The Lyrics

Azaria Chamberlain was eaten by a dingo in the Australian outback, then they said her mum Lindy did it, then they said the dingo did it again - the Australian Justice System reserves the right to change its mind........you might recall the case from the movie with Meryl Streep ("Evil Angels" here, "A Cry In The Dark" elsewhere) - Luke, Stu, Kristof
There was Azaria in her cot,
A dingo's grand buffet, yo!
Eat, bite, binge and chew!
Eat, bite, binge and chew!
Eat, bite, binge and chew!
"A dingo took my babe, oh!"

Soon every farmer and his dog,
Thought Lindy should be shamed. Ho!
... cry, whinge and moan!
... cry, whinge and moan!
... cry, whinge and moan!
That strange girl must be blamed, oh!

"We didn't harm her, you're all wrong!
Don't send us to the cage yet!"
... ... in you go!
... ... in you go!
... ... in you go!
The clink it is - you staged it!

Then Meryl Streep said we wuz wrong
she even used our lingo
... ... ... yer wrong!
... ... ... yer wrong!
... ... ... yer wrong!
it bloody WUZ the dingo!

The world agreed, so we did too
and then we let her free-o
... ... ... ... free!
... ... ... ... free!
... ... ... ... free!
with an apology-o

and now when something sus occurs
this is what we sayo
... ... ... ... ... ...
... ... ... ... ... ...
... ... ... ... ... ...
who cares, anywayo

thanks Red and alvin - Luke did the good bits at the start, and I spun it off on my cynical tangent at the end...

warning: further cynicism ahead:
as soon as the world became outraged (thanks to Meryl) our govt was embarrassed, Azaria's critical missing matinee jacket miraculously materialised just where they'd spent ten years looking for it, and they released Lindy the day after, no re-opening the case or anything - apparently the vanishing of the matinee jacket must've been what put her in jail

Good one 555. Its always easy to blame mothers.... in my sad experience anyway....

Yes, my Freudian-loving psychiatrist never buys my claims of 'issues with the dingo'.
