Of course, "Beaver" is now a name that no parent would want to call their child now, due to the connotations that it's taken on.

Lots to talk about here. ========> 1. Cute sarcasm, AFW. ___ 3. Leave it: when "Leave it to Beaver" was on the air, the "dirty" meaning of the word "beaver" already existed -- but Americans were just not nearly as crude and filthy-minded in those days. They could use the word as a nickname, without conjuring up "alternate visions." ___ 2. Johnny D, "Wally" should not be a correct answer, since the other people named were a younger circle of classmates. Theodore "Beaver" Cleaver hung around with Larry Mondello, Gilbert Bates, Hubert "Whitey" Whitney, and Richard Rickover. (Wally Cleaver hung around with Clarence "Lumpy" Rutherford, Eddy Haskell, and "Tooey" Brown.)

Seems to me that some commentors missed what "Farce" and Alvin "Bates" Rhodes are doing here. They collaborated on the same song to make a point. This is brilliant guys. Mary & Pip plus me did a similiar thing a few years back. Yeah, you guys know me. I'm glad to see a lot of the old gang back out here and I'm thinking about increasing my parody count sometime soon and rejoin you wonderful and talented writers. Well done!

@Pip

I've been in a bad place for awhile now, but I am coming out of it. Sorry to everyone for whom I spoofed my name on the comments of the past few days. I just wanted to see if anyone remembered me. My intent was not to troll as I explain. I left hints to my identity & so far you are the first I have seen to write that you figured me out. Great eagle eye.

And yes, since I see a lot of the old gang out here, I am getting the urge to write a bit again. Right now I have a ton or several thousand kilos of stuff to do. I picked up on the theme the site is playing out. I would have loved to have gotten into that whole April fools/Billy Joel thing but (one) I wasn't ready and (two) I was too late spotting it. BJ 's OS's are favorites of mine & I have more than a few of them out here, like "Paisano Man" which was my 1st mob parody. This turned into a portfolio if you recall, with each mob parody all playing off the others. (Remember Sicilians?) You, Merry and I did that & posted it on the same day. We collaborated on that.

I lost my wife of 43 years to cancer in 2014 & I miss her so much & have been lost without her. She was my rock and my best friend. I've been grieving a long time & it is time to move on. I was barely 20 & she 19 when we married. Way too young. A lot of marriages end in divorce especially people who marry at this age. We were the exception to the rule.

For now I am going to visit the site whenever and comment some but it will be a while before I pen parodies again. I am way rusty now at writing but I do have some interesting ideas. @Pip

@Alvin "Bates" Rhodes. I hope you understand that I just used your space to communicate with Pip. As they say in Japan, "Prease to excuse, dozo toe gomen asai" (Please and I am sorry).

As "Arnold" once said in a movie "Aisle be bach" Ciao!

Hi Guy, has been nostalgia central round here recently, great to see you back. Sorry to hear things have been bad: I have often found writing to be an escape when it happens, cathartic even. I'll look forward to reading some more :-)

@Phil my old mate

Great to hear from you. Thanks for your sentiments. It really means a lot to me to see that I'm still remembered.

And yes I'm still Christian but that is my choice and I know you respect that as I respect your beliefs. You are still a friend to me, sir. But as I said, from being in a state of depression, I have been paralyzed by it & have neglected things for too long.

I'm on the mend & getting those things done that need to be done. In a few weeks, hopefully all will be ironed out & done.

Likely one of my 1st will be a song by "War". I have a line in mind that maybe most won't get but those who do will howl.

When I come back I am going to have to contact ChuckyG to get my old DoRitos handle back onto the site's msg board.

Do you know if ABC, SOTM etc. contests are still happening on the board?

Again, great hearing from you. Looking forward to the fun banter we & the "gang" used to so thoroughly enjoy. Hope to see you on the flip side, brother!
