Parody Song Title:

"Gotta Go!"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

A girl's gotta go when a girl's gotta go!
Oh, the dinner he made is frightful
Boring talk, I've had a night full
This blind date's turned out to blow
Gotta go! Gotta go! Gotta go!

I drank too much juice at dinner
Right before the Oscar winner
Three minutes into the show
Gotta go! Gotta go! Gotta go!

I've been working all day and night
Just can't wait to get home where it's warm
Can't this guy see it's a green light?
Here's my finger and my horn!

My dream guy has been lying
Oh, to hide his wife he's trying
Got two kids and a dog named Joe
Gotta go! Gotta go! Gotta go!

Gotta go! Gotta go! Gotta go!

I laughed SOOOOO hard at "Here's my finger and my horn!" Good hell, and BRAVO!
AFW - December 07, 2004 - Report this comment
Funny and cute..Two kids and a dog named, Joe...good line..5's
John Barry - December 07, 2004 - Report this comment
Good one. You had me faked out, though. . .though it was going to be about bladder control.
Tim Mayfield - December 07, 2004 - Report this comment
Not sure why ya picked on the poor doggie at the end, but brilliant lines throughout. 5's
Jeff Reuben - December 07, 2004 - Report this comment
At least one line was bladder control, right? An entire song about bladder control...there's an idea =)
2Eagle - December 07, 2004 - Report this comment
I had to read a parody to one of my favorite songs. You did it justice.
Arwen - December 07, 2004 - Report this comment
Ashkicker...you have to know, in all honesty, that I had you in mind when I wrote that line. =)

AFW...thanks a ton, buddy!

John B...=) I thought most people would think that...which I hoped would attract folks to the parody...hehehe...

Tim...I'm not sure what you mean by me picking on the dog...but thanks for the brilliant bit...

Jeff...hehehe. The truth of the matter is that I knew I'd never even come close to the brilliance of yours...=)

2Eagle...thanks!

Hehe...another really good one! Now I "gotta go"...back to work, that is. There's a big stack of papers on my desk. Have a nice day!
Tim Mayfield - December 07, 2004 - Report this comment
Arwen, cause you are listing the reasons ya gotta go. Having two kids and a wife are good reasons, but a dog named Joe? Not a good reason, unless you're a cat person or unless you don't like the name Joe or unless he told you he had a squirrel named Greg or something.
Arwen - December 07, 2004 - Report this comment
Thanks, Serafina!

Tim...the dog is just one of the details of his hidden life. His hidden life is the reason I gotta go.
Meriadoc - December 07, 2004 - Report this comment
Yep, I thought it was gonna be a pee parody too, but then I said to myself - uh uh - this is Arwen - gotta be about ditching a boyfriend... ;-D

What John Barry said.....urine trouble now, I'm pissed.
Arwen - December 08, 2004 - Report this comment
alvin...but where are you going?? I didn't do anything!!

Stuart...hmph. Yep, still fuming.

Johnny...hehe...thanks!
Stuart McArthur - December 08, 2004 - Report this comment
right, this is getting us nowhere - we need to see a counsellor
Arwen - December 08, 2004 - Report this comment
No need...I was only fuming about the fact that I couldn't think of enough ways to sing your praises...=)
Stuart McArthur - December 08, 2004 - Report this comment
somebody's scared of the counsellor.....(filing that away)

Four comments for the price of one: (1) Sometimes it's a good thing when blind dates blow. (2) I'm still convinced that the second verse is about pee. (3) You know full well that my pet Joe is a marmot, not a dog. (4) Heh heh.
Arwen - January 16, 2005 - Report this comment
Spaff...

1. I have nothing. Nothing to reply. Damn you.

2. I never said it wasn't. It is.

3. Sue me. Marmot has two damned syllables...sacrifices has to be made...

4. Thanks...=)

Two kids, okay, but a DOG?!? Named JOE?!? HOW COULD HE?!!!? THE BASTARD!!!!! Funny stuff, especially liked the atypical "frightful/ night full" rhyme; very good.

I think this one's really funny; in a way reminds me of those tv ads. The commercials can get all ones, but this parody gets all fives!
Ellipsis - January 19, 2005 - Report this comment
Just making sure I registered my vote...sometimes I have a habit of commenting but forgetting to vote.
Arwen - January 19, 2005 - Report this comment
Claude...I know! That really WAS the final straw. Good call...thanks!

Ellipsis...thanks a ton, buddy! Those commercials totally get stuck in my head!!

(SOTM) Arwen, no wonder you live out in the God-forsaken wilderness, wherever the heck that is...need to give YOU plenty of space...5's...funny stuff.

And I seriously thought this was gonna be another sequel to Jeff's "I've Got to Pee Now" (A classic in its own right). Jeff was right, at least one line was about bladder control. I thought this was very cute: 5-5-5. Keep up the good work and keep the Ring away from Sauron, Arwen Evenstar.

John Jenkins - January 30, 2005 - Report this comment
Arwen, you are very selective. Just the fact that a guy cooks dinner should make him a winner, shouldn't it? I know, my wife would rather have Chinese take out than my cooking any day, but give the guy a break for trying. Anyway, very good parody.
2nz - January 30, 2005 - Report this comment
"Look, it's a bird, it's a plane... no, it's a bird. And it usually appears when I sit at green lights for some reason." Extra points for being both funny and brief. I liked the variety of the experiences you fit into such a brief area, and the frightful/night full couplet.
Don't worry, my next comment to you will look hilarious when compared to this one.

This one's really good! I actually have looked at this one but haven't commented on it yet. I have to agree with Ellipsis about the commercials; in fact, I've seen plenty of commercials that can get 1-1-1's in my book. This parody gets a perfect 5-5-5!
