In a voting booth I stand
With a pencil in my hand,
While the other hand is pinching shut my nose.
The GOP's in such a slump
That they've chosen Donald Trump.
His unfitness for the office clearly shows.

"Trump! Trump! Trump!" proclaim his minions
Chanting through the day and night.
They set quite an ugly trend
With their xenophobic friends.
There's no doubt that on this country they're a blight.

That Republicans present
Donald Trump for president
Is a thought that has me ready to throw up.
We could spare ourselves all that
If we voted Democrat,
But their candidate is notably corrupt.

"Trump! Trump! Trump!" gives me a headache,
Claiming Clinton is a curse.
I'll admit that I agree
When it comes to Hillary,
But the GOP's alternative is worse.

So in this election year,
Only one thing's really clear.
There's no major-party candidate I trust.
Though this knowledge gives me pain,
Nonetheless I'll make it plain,
Our two-party system fills me with disgust!

Dump, dump, dump the major parties!
Neither one deserves our vote.
It's become my point of view
That the day is overdue
When the system hasn't got us by the throat.
