Parody Song Title:

"Point and Laugh (at Sarah Palin)"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Inspired by a thread on the BadScience forum with the same title.
Point and laugh at Sarah Palin
Ha ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha.
'Cause her brain has so much "fail" in
Ha ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha.

Harken at her mindless prattle
Ha ha ha, ha ha ha, ha ha ha.
IQ much the same as cattle
Ha ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha.

See the pseudo-folksy manner
Ha ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha.
Does anyone understand her?
Ha ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha.

Gets it wrong 'bout Paul Revere
Ha ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha.
And *everything* else, too, I fear
Ha ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha.

Scary, when I hear her talking
Ha ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha.
Makes Bush sound like Stephen Hawking
Ha ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha.

But the best joke I suspect is
Ha ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha.
She thinks she might be elected
Ha ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha.
Ha ha ha ha ha, ha ha HA HA!

Ha ha ha ha ha, ha-ha, ha, ha.

Dammit, imagine if SHE'D been around back in the day to give the warning to us Brits! If the message had been "Bad news chaps... the Americans have got guns, and they're gonna shoot you with them and everything. I think they're even more deadly than your kick-ass bells!" You ripped her a new one with great panache here, Phil - loved the line "Makes Bush sound like Stephen Hawking" in particular. A definite 555!
John Barry - June 07, 2011 - Report this comment
She has weasel cunning, though, you gotta give her that.

What a great way to make money. I am planning to run in 2012. Just as soon as I can finish my campaign announcement. You'll see it here first. If you're on the site. And if you see my name. And if you read it. Contributions always welcome. Will take silver, gold, ammunition, freeze-dried food. Brother, can you spare a dime?

:-) Thanks all

Wendy - can't help but wonder, if that had happened would we talk about things being "palinned" rather than "revered"?

JB - Her "weasel cunning" does so frequently seem to be let down by simple lack of any kind of depth at all. It's a bit like a variant of Poe's Law: I'm never sure if I'm watching Palin or Tina Fey taking the mickey

Patrick - I'll give her that: she has managed to rake in rather a lot, hasn't she?

Unfortunately for you, Michael, your line 14 is incorrect. Paul Revere, after warning the colonists, was captured by the resident British soldiers and told them that they would face an armed and forewarned citizenry. So Sarah is more informed than most Americans, not to mention media pundits, and I rate your parody 5-1-3.

MP: Unless you are commenter "philbo" on http://badscience.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=23882 (who posted your first stanza), you have plagiarized.
Phil Alexander - June 07, 2011 - Report this comment
er.. Barry: Michael didn't write this one, I did (and yes, I am "philbo" on badscience. Re the point regarding Revere - it's not something that gets covered over here: I was basing that line partly on media coverage, but mainly on the revisionism going on on Paul Revere's wiki page: if she's as right as you say she is, why are there people trying to edit his wiki page to tally with the Palin version that don't match the articles referenced? And have you looked at what she actually said?
Phil Alexander - June 07, 2011 - Report this comment
Barry - this is what she said (verbatim):
"He who warned, uh, the British that they weren’t gonna be takin’ away our arms, uh, by ringing those bells, and um, makin' sure as he’s riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be sure and we were going to be free, and we were going to be armed."

..you're giving her way too much credit.

Enjoyed this bunches. Palin is a mess, at best, makin' it up as she goes along. And she's very good parody material (see my loving tribute to her and Biden in "Poliditzz"). Lovely job, Phil. Here's 5 bells to warn you about, you know, that thing you would have, umm, makin' our freedom of speech a warning to, uh arm the bears.
Reply 2 BJM - June 07, 2011 - Report this comment
Actually, BJM, in my history class we were told that Revere and Dawes were stopped by British sentries but they pretended to be drunk and were released. Prescott, however made his run to give out warning. Guns were never even mentioned. The locals were ready for action, however...

As a REP I can laugh at this and respect it for being a parody as well as others' political commentary. DEMs get offended by anythign and everything said about their candidates and seldom can see the humor. I am not so immature as to rate someone a 111 due to ideology. Rate the freakin' song- not the person or their party affiliation/beliefs/platform!!! Good work Phil...
Joe Biden's dumber than Palin - June 08, 2011 - Report this comment
The dumbest thing a politician ever said was Biden's comment about President FDR getting on TV in 1929 at the start of the depression to calm the peoples fears, Palin is Einstein compared to Biden.
Phil Alexander - June 10, 2011 - Report this comment
While Biden's comment about FDR and television was pretty damn stupid, on its own that is a drop in the waterfall of Palinesque idiocy. Palin isn't Einstein when compared to anything or anybody: there simply isn't anyone that much more clueless outside situation comedy. Or even in it: if Palin were a sitcom character, people would be complaining that nobody in real life could be that fantastically and extravagantly asinine and retain any credibility whatsoever.
History Flips The Finger At You Leftards - June 20, 2011 - Report this comment
Palin was right about Revere and you lamers all have eggs on your face for bashing her about it, Lexie. Try ungluing your eyes from PMSNBC sometime and cracking an actual history book, loser. Compared to any of you brain-dead leftard commie traitor butt-suckers, Palin is freakin' Marilyn Vos Savant!
Phil Alexander - June 21, 2011 - Report this comment
Why do you right-wing apologists for idiots like Palin so frequently feel the need to post anonymously? Is it because you are subconsciously aware that you're wrong and don't want to be associated with it? Read what Palin actually said (I quoted it verbatim above), and you will get the indelible impression that she really didn't have a clue what she was talking about. A bit like you in your insults: I don't think I've seen a more inaccurate or inept attempt at invective - not one of the terms you apply to me even comes close to reality, and any unbiased observer will be left with the inevitable conclusion that there's only one person posting here that makes Palin look like Marilyn vos Savant. But then, he was also too cowardly to leave his name. No surprise there, then.
American Seer - June 22, 2011 - Report this comment
Palin is a very sad pathetic joke. She's the Britney Spears of Politics. She's a disgrace to women in general. There are plenty of smart, mature (and sexy) women around (I know they're out there, so LET'S SEE THEM), but with all the media attention on zeroes like her and untalented pop tarts and bimbos and such you'd wonder. She's an embarrassment to the U.S.A.. Palin is a corrupt cretin who set a new low for working women. She ain't got the sence God gave a pissant.
