The Lyrics

Autumn is near, cool grows the lake
The apple fruit is tinted and red
It's time to toil, and time to take
A long handled rake from the shed..

Green leaves the summer fields
Green leaves fall into eaves
Green leaves leave the flower stems
Before comes the winter, green leaves

Such are the seasons, every year
A transition smooth and naturally
In some ways sad, it may tweak a tear
But forever this is how it must be..

Green leaves the summer fields,
Green leaves fall into eaves
Green leaves leave the flower stems
Before comes the winter, green leaves

Church and it's steeple, now are seen
Through shadows of grayness on land
Adorned with color patches green
An artist brush stroke from God's hand..

Green leaves the summer fields,
Green leaves fall into eaves
Green leaves leave the flower stems
Before comes the winter, green leaves

A soft rain is misting the sky
Blackbirds are rehearsing in flocks
The wind is chill, cold clouds are high
Green is the moss on the rocks..

Green leaves the summer fields,
Green leaves fall into eaves
Green leaves leave the flower stems
Before comes the winter, green leaves

Before comes the winter, green leaves

Very "nature-al" made parody, AFW! Great theme for autumn! Enjoyed the foliage detail in your song! I can actually see the colors! It's also one of my fave OS's. Flowing 5 Oak, 5 Maple, and 5 Eucalyptus leaves! :)

This is really pretty! I think I liked the imagery of the church stanza the best... and the wordplay of "leaves" in the chorus!
