Parody Song Title:

"Grading Papers"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Thanks, Rex, for your suggestion for this song !
Grading papers, bane for me,
How I hate those sheets to see.
Piled high with math galore,
From the ceiling to the floor.
Be it homework, quiz or test,
They're a pain, and such a mess.

First a quiz from Katie M.,
Her parabola looks grim.
And a test from Jimmy T.
His ellipse lacks symmetry.
Homework note from Tammy Chin;
"Sorry: smell is dog urine."

In my bedroom now I hide
From all contact with outside.
Dirty plates and forks abound;
Pizza boxes tossed around.
Someone save me from this fate,
All this work, and grades are late.

I look up, I'm shocked to see
No more piles surrounding me.
Life is good ! I'm done at last !
And my students have all passed.
But my joy's short-lived at best.
'Cause today's another test.

Hey, Paree, cut us students some slack! The last think we like is a nitpicky teacher. =( But good job anyway.

This is the first time in all my years that I have ever heard a parabola described as "grim". :-) This was a fun read!

Cat, I cut my students so much slack that I am desperate... see my other parody today to see the lengths to which a teacher goes to get a 'rise' out of her students... a mental one, that is... giggle............ And Rex, if you were a math teacher, you would find MANY parabolas grim... there are just so dang many of them ! ...... and Rex, thanks for the idea for this song... it was dedicated to you, btw..........Dee Range, see my other submission today if you want to send the lament of a desperate teacher to your sis..... I truly admire the mental fortitude of English teachers.... they have to actually concentrate when they grade the papers... all I do is look at the pictures, lol.................... and TT, I shall diligently do my assignment from you.... to read all those other parodies..... can you all tell that today is a schoolday off ???

Five credits times 3, Paree Dee. Hey, as long as we're on the subject of SLACK, you might like to check out my parody of the traditional song "Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow":

Johnny D, I loved your doxology parody, short, sweet, and to the point ! ...... Sam, you will probably get more teacher parodies, as it appears that I have no life except my classroom and my occasional forays at amiright. Thanks !

I'm with Larry; in fact, the only song I know by this title is one by Def Leppard...which is obviously a different song altogether (i.e., it has a different melody, words, etc). I may vote 5 5 5 on it as well, but it's a lot more fun when you KTOS. I trust that it is perfectly paced.
