Parody Song Title:

"Please, George, Resign"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Imagine an entire ballpark full of (possibly belatedly) enlightened people singing this.
(instrumental opening)

Where'd it begin?
Guy with nothing he's knowin'.
Florida votes were counted wrong.

Butts in a sling
we're in an eight-year bummer
unless we make it not that long.

House
must impeach
Senate vote
freeing me
freeing you!

Please, George, resign!
(Bomp, bomp, bomp!)
Good times never been so gone!
(So gone! So gone! So gone!)
I've been inclined
(Bomp, bomp, bomp!)
to believe your rule is wrong!
But...
back...
in...

Two thousand four
our nation did not listen.
"Mandate" is what you called that vote.

I said back then
your voters deserve what happens.
Our ship of state's a sinking boat.

War...
in Iraq...
New Orleans...
breaking laws...
W!

Please, George, resign!
(Bomp, bomp, bomp!)
Good times never been so gone!
(So gone! So gone! So gone!)
I've been inclined
(Bomp, bomp, bomp!)
to believe your rule is wrong!
Go, go, go...

(instrumental break)

Please, George, resign!
(Bomp, bomp, bomp!)
Good times never been so gone!
(So gone! So gone! So gone!)
Please, George, resign!
(Bomp, bomp, bomp!)
We now know your rule is wrong!

Please, George, resign!
(Bomp, bomp, bomp!)
Good times never been so gone!
(So gone! So gone! So gone!)
Please, George, resign!
(Bomp, bomp, bomp!)
We now know your rule is wrong!
I gotta admit: When I wrote the words "sinking boat," I almost drifted into another song. I sure hope that, by the time my newborn nieces (and any children I might go on to have) are old enough to vote, the disaster that has been the George W. Bush Administration is remembered well enough that "the legend lives on."

I used to write my share of anti-Bush parodies and endure my share of triple 1's. It feels good to know that you are right and they are still in denial!

I actually gave you all 5s here, because I can't help but think of Neil Diamond on stage singing this. As for history...it is written by the victors. W was well connected enough to get himself voted in TWICE. If the present is a lie, who knows what history will write of him?

The answer to you felonious traitors and your demands is NO! We're staying right here. Bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Thank you. Tim: You know the old joke, Bush thinks denial is the river in Egypt. Sync: To listen to bums like the last two to comment before me, historians are all liberal anyway; if that's true, then Bush is toast for all time. You don't see all that many conservative historians saying Nixon got a bum rap. Alvin: If truer words were spoken (or typed), Bush wouldn't understand. 2Eagle: I wish I could laugh with it. Ann: If only we had all so sung in 2004! 200: Interesting choice of words, since it was Libby who is a convicted felon, and what he did can be called treason, and Bush just gave it his sanction. That makes Bush a felonious traitor. And you an enabler. Isn't it time for a 12-step program? Step 1: Admit that you have a problem. Step 2: Believe in a higher power; in this case, the Constitution of the United States. I'd settle for you and yours only doing Step 9: Apologizing to those you've wronged. Who knows, I might actually accept it.

Please, Mike, stop writing parodies about Bush. We get the point.

Patrick, I will stop when he does. He is writing my material for me.
