The Lyrics

Where it began, I can't begin to know
But then I know it's cheese, bread, and wine, oh no
Cheesemakers, they believe in the power of cheddar
Serving up a platter, it just gets better and better

Bread, cheese, and wine
Good times never felt so fine
Eating food, feeling divine
Bread, cheese, and wine

Warm baguettes, the smell in the air is so sweet
Creamy brie, as we gather and take a seat
Crackers and grapes, the perfect accompaniment
A glass of red, we revel in this moment

Bread, cheese, and wine
Good times never felt so fine
Eating food, feeling divine
Bread, cheese, and wine

Hands reaching out, mouths watering in anticipation
As we raise our glasses, a toast to celebration
The flavors meld together, a symphony in our mouths
Bread, cheese, and wine, that's what it's all about

The party's swinging, laughter fills the air
Sharing stories, we haven't got a single care
From gouda to camembert, the options are so grand
In this world of bread, cheese, and wine, we stand

Bread, cheese, and wine
Good times never felt so fine
Eating food, feeling divine
Bread, cheese, and wine

So raise your glasses, let the music play
In this ode to bread, cheese, and wine, we'll sway
Together we'll savor, enjoy the feast
Bread, cheese, and wine, a taste that never cease

I don't get it. I get the first line. After that, the meter of your parody doesn't seem to match the meter of the original. For instance your second line "But then I know it's cheese, bread, and wine, oh no" contains 11 syllables, where the corresponding line of the original "But then I know it's growin' strong" contains 8 syllables. Third line: Parody 13; Original 11. Fourth: It would have worked without the added "and better." I actually enjoyed reading and singing along. I just didn't know what to do with the extra syllables you provided. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Glenn Walker, it doesn't matter how good or bad a parody is. It is still going to get the same bogus 14 votes. Why don't you read some of my older parodies?

I suspected that’s what was happening
