Bromides—it’s everywhere they lurk and loom.
You’ll likely hear an “awesome!” soon;
“It’s all good,” someone’s sure croon.
You can’t escape this blather.

Next, you’ll encounter, “Have nice day!”
“I’ll be your server; my name’s Ray.”
Have they got nothing else to say?!
And this is nothing yet to say of
emojis that texters shove
in missives; what’s not to love?
I’m being snide about bromides.

More and more of these things people say.
If I hear another, I may
contact a friend to save the day
and help me sweep mind under the rug—
not with something from a mug—
but with a sedating drug.
I’ll soon have tried mounds of bromides.
