The hearse was driven to the House,
The coffin's draped red, white and blue,
We stood as quiet as a mouse,
And told Mr. Reagan adieu,
We took the cover from the casque,
Placed Mr. Reagan right inside,
We stared once more -- it was the last,
This man who once been our pride.

Mr. Reagan! O is it true,
That we shall see his face no more?
His work has made US anew,
Remains in our hearts evermore,
He almost died when he was shot,
But afterwards he was then cured,
He gave the US a whole lot,
And now this day was so demure.

Reagan has only "gone before,"
He's safe in heaven, up so high,
Our man, President, and seignior,
Now there were nary, droughty eyes,
We by the empty office knelt,
When people all started to cry,
But in our valiant hearts we felt,
A memory that never dies.
