Parody Song Title:

"His Name is Al Gore"

Parody Written by:

Linda Terhune

The Lyrics

The average American uses 11Kw of power to Al Gore's 221Kw for just one of his four homes... Al pays 30K in energy for that one home and uses his private jet to deliver the message to us all that we must conserve energy. Can you say HYPOCRITE?
Row a boat and ride you bikes
to your favorite store
light some candles kill the switch
but not if your name is Al Gore

He's okay he gets a pass
using 20 times more
energy for just one home
than most cus he's Al Gore

Dump your SUV right now
live like living's a chore
don't use gas and camp some more
but not if your name is Al Gore

He will ride around the states
in private jets and more
He will lecture you to save
but he won't cus he's Al Gore

Linda, it is you who are the weasel that has popped. Al specifically took on more electricity to use an operating system that uses LESS "greenhouse gases." This, of course, is countered every time you open your mouth. This myth you and the far right are spreading has already been debunked, and the fact that you and your authoritarian ilk are still spreading it (among other things) proves that you're scared out of what little wit you have over the idea of the man who won the 2000 Presidential election, Al Gore, running again. Tell me, which potential President scares you more: Al Gore or Hillary Clinton?
LD4U - March 02, 2007 - Report this comment
Alas, Linda your opinion IS and Inconvienient truth. By the way, would you vote for a woman president if her name was Eva Gardner and she ran for the Nazi party?
Linda - March 02, 2007 - Report this comment
Michael: That's a pretty dumb explanation. Al Gore's energy bill, I mentioned, was $30,000.00 last year, (again, 20 times more than the average American). Nice try though; gotta give you credit for being consistent with your head buried firmly in the sand. I don't fear Al Gore at all. I think that his loony bin doctor's would not okay any long time release for him to run. I don't fear Hillary either, why would I? I really am not impressed by your (same old) tricks -- your telling me what and how I personally think -- but more power to you. It is your time you are wasting, not mine. =========== LD4U: === as to the first part of your comment, the private jet travel and the unreal energy use Al Gore has accomplished is in fact 100% true. Saying that it is just an opinion is sort of weak considering you are obviously ignorant of such stuff. As to the second part of your comment; all I can say to that is you are lacking in maturity & should be more embarrassed to display that fact as you do.

Just check out the Gore compund outside Nashville, up by lake Hull and tell me how much energy that place consumes while Mr Inconvenient's away lecturing the rest of us on a smaller "footprint". If he sold all his houses except the one he actually sleeps in, rode a bike to work and flew coach everywhere his staff want him to go, he'd at least gain respect for trying to walk the walk, but righteous ideology ain't what socialist politicians are about, is it, that's just for grass root peons. Can't you get some kid with a piano to run through these parodies, I'd love to hear them. Walt the W

Well done, Linda. The former vice president defends his extraordinary personal energy usage by telling critics he maintains a "carbon neutral" lifestyle by buying "carbon offsets," but the company that receives his payments turns out to be partly owned and chaired by Al Gore himself. Nice work if you can get it.

John Jenkins - I know, go figure! ----- - Hypocrites unite - join the liberal party!
Immoral Liberal - March 05, 2007 - Report this comment
John Jenkins - can you say "Dick Cheney" and "Haliburton" - isn't there a biblical reference to glass houses? (I wouldn't know, I've never read the greatest story ever sold.) Come on John, you're smarter than that to leave yourself so open - I mean really, Al Gore vs. Dick Cheney and you'd take Dick Cheney? Linda, you loon. Speaking of hypocrites - and you were, weren't you? - how do you explain the Evangelical fascists backing Rudy Giuliani for President? I mean he's pro-gay, anti-gun, pro-choice and dresses in drag - how do the religious nuts tolerate this? I mean isn't this part of the moral decay of society? He's from New York too - aren't you guys trying to get rid of that city?
Immoral Liberal - March 06, 2007 - Report this comment
Linda, my condolences on Scooter Libby (but it should have been Cheney). However, I agree with you, it's not like Scooter lied under oath about oral sex like some people did. And, let's be honest here, he was acquitted of one count of lying to the FBI. Pardon me?
Linda - March 06, 2007 - Report this comment
Immoral Liberal - I know you were speaking to John, however, Cheney doesn't own stock in Halliburton and doesn't get paid by them for anything. However, Moore, who said he would never own stock in anything DOES own Halliburton stock... go figure! It sounds to me like you are anti-religious because for the most part, Christians run from demoncrats FAST.... bitter little thing aren't ya?
Linda - March 06, 2007 - Report this comment
PS You are missing the point, again....... Al Gore is going around the country in his private jet all over (which includes his four homes, one of which uses 20 times the energy than the average American family uses) Standing up for your icon's hypocrisy, an ex vice president no less, is pretty weak of you - even if you are a die hard demoncrat. There is no excuse for this little man flying around telling us to trade in our SUV's and keep our lights out while he pays $30,000.00 in energy bills for one house and thousands and thousands for his favorite form of transportation. If you can't see that, or refuse to see it because of your partisan blindfolds, then that is just a testament of how little you care for your own country vs having your party win elections.
John Jenkins - March 06, 2007 - Report this comment
Immoral Liberal - thank you for what seems to be a left-handed compliment. I understand that when someone throws out words like "Cheney" and "Halliburton" in the company of liberals, all of the liberals give knowing nods at what they have been taught is obviously a conflict of interest. But Halliburton was getting no-bid contracts when Clinton was president and what's-his-name was vice president. Immoral Liberal, have you retired from parody writing? Your comments are always welcome, but I wonder why you post them anonymously and I do miss your parodies.
Immoral Liberal - March 07, 2007 - Report this comment
Hmmm - let's see - Cheney lies to bolster the war effort, we enter an unjust war under false pretenses and Halliburton is the only winner. John, what was your favorite parody of mine - and thanks, I'm glad I'm being missed by you - I do have respect for your opinions and your work. Ah, Linda, our party did win with Al Gore - remember? But you guys stole the election. Also, I noticed you bypassed the whole Scooter Libby conviction - and here I thought that you had some sort of problem with lying under oath - go figure.

John - I'm sorry - I meant to tell you that I thought "left-handed compliment" was a great line - it had me laughing until I had to go back to reading Linda's rhetoric. I didn't want you to think that that line went unnoticed. Linda - now that I know you are so concerned with the environment, and probably haven't read this month's copy of TreeHugger magazine, so I thought I would give you an except in something that you might be interested in. I do want to acknowldge that some of your friends who reside in the bible belt state are already doing their part after banning vibrators. (Talk about a left-handed compliment?)Anyway, here goes: TreeHugger, an online magazine edited by Ontario's Michael Graham Richard, has just published a guide on "how to green your sex life." The famed adult store Good Vibrations announced last week they would no longer sell sex toys containing phthalates, controversial chemical plasticizers believed by some to be hazardous to humans and the environment alike. And throughout Canada and the U.S., people who want to pleasure the planet can now buy everything from bamboo bed sheets to organic lubricant and "eco-undies."

Linda â€" I hope you don’t mind my using this thread to respond to our friend Immoral Liberal. You are doing quite well on your own, but some of his statements are directed at me.

Immoral Liberal, you can criticize the Iraq War without falsely claiming that the administration lied. Saddam Hussein and Iraq had 12 years to comply with numerous UN resolutions, including 1441, which stated that there would be serious consequences if Iraq did not comply. When Iraq did not comply, the United States and its allies had little choice but to administer “serious consequences.” I agree that some criticisms of the war are valid, but I reject the “Bush lied, people died” argument. The entire international intelligence community believed that Iraq had WMDs.

Al Gore did get more popular votes, but the United States constitution specifies that the candidate who gets the most electoral votes wins the election. Mr. Gore finished second.

The Valerie Plame/Scooter Libby incident is not the finest moment of the Bush administration. No one is denying that. But can you explain why Patrick Fitzgerald prosecuted Mr. Libby for lying about who leaked Ms. Plame’s identity but did not prosecute the leaker, Richard Armitage?

I think my 2 favorite parodies that you wrote are the ones that you submitted on 8/29/02 and 10/16/03. What do you think your best parody was and why have you stopped submitting? Are you reluctant to expose your ideas to criticism and do you have more fun trying to find issues with those who do submit?
Immoral Liberal - March 08, 2007 - Report this comment
John - hate to stop you on the first line but that is not a false accusation - the administration lied in order to justify the invasion into Iraq. Let's face it, that's what the Libby trial was all about. Sorry but I can't bend on that. The International community believed this because the administration lied. Osama should have been the target all along and now look at the result. You are correct sir on the popular vote issue - and, the Electoral College would be one of few things that I would be in favor of in terms of amending the Constitution. However, Jeb and the Bushies stole the election. Look, there is no doubt and no argument here that Libby was the fall guy - however, he did lie under oath and obstruct justice. Cheney and Rove are the guys who should have been on trial. John, you're much too intelligent to fall under the spell of Ms. Terhune - she outright lies to push her ideology - you would not do that and you never have. You and I may differ on the facts but neither of us would make up the facts. And this is why I choose to reply to Ms. Terhune in such a manner - the lies have to stop. Do you remember her whole campaign on a well-known Senator being convicted of fraud? I have no use for dishonest people nor the disinformation they spread. (Interesting - I wouldn't consider either of those my best work. But thanks for the right-handed compliment.)

John Jenkins ------ - I don't mind one bit. It certainly won't help Mr. Immoral because he is one of those weak people who fall prey to good marketers - it's people like him who help the marketers get the big bucks. He really believes the nonsense and never acknowledges the truth under any circumstances. I am afraid he is simply a lost cause & one that will forever be a follower. So anyway, again, I don't mind your input, I love it really - keep it up. Maybe one or two people with some kind of intelligence and strength will read your comments, see that they have been conned / suckered / duped / etc., and ditch the propaganda crap in favor of the truth when they read your comments --- and that's a good thing!.
