Parody Song Title:

"Slayer Concert"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

The reference to a "balcony" in the first stanza of the second and third verses refers to the historic McDonald Theater in Eugene, Oregon, which has been home to a Slayer concert or two, one of which I declined to attend several years ago thanks to the fact that one of my cousins, who is a crack-addicted, STD-infected scuzzball, was going to be there. Yes, there is balcony seating in that theater. For pacing purposes, pronounce "balcony" as "bal-kuh-nee". As for the "Gremlin seventy-two", it simply refers to a 1972 AMC (American Motors) Gremlin automobile.
I'm a death-metal fanatic, and a Slayer fan, I am too
It's a lovely evening for a Slayer concert with you
Down there the music's a-playin' and people are rockin' all out
It's a lovely evening for a Slayer concert with you

Our seats are nice and cozy and high up in the balcony
We're rockin' out together like two death-metal fans would be
Let's take the road before us and drive our Gremlin seventy-two
It's a lovely evening for a Slayer concert with you

(Death-metal-style electric guitar solo)

I'm a death-metal fanatic, and a Slayer fan, I am too
It's a lovely evening for a Slayer concert with you
Down there, the music's a-playin' and people are rockin' all out
It's a lovely evening for a Slayer concert with you

love the contrast between the jaunty original melody and your lyrics about cruising to a slayer concert in a gremlin (a perfect car for the occasion i might add)

Not into heavy metal groups, but unique parody idea...and quite well done, except for a few stretched syllable accents...

Thanks, Alvin and AFW, I can always count on you two for funny parodies and giving great, constructive comments.

Ditto AFW's comment. Not a metal fan, and it's not alwya "a gimme: to fit read lyrics to just a midi of an unfamiiar song, but I do like the idea and, as far as I can tell, you did a better than just decent job with nit.

Thank you, Stan.

I am seriously thinking about recording this parody. It would start out sounding like the OS, but after a few seconds, the jingle bells and piano would segue into the same tune but with electric guitars, synthesizer and drums, and my singing voice is best described as annoying, so I would get a friend of mine with a better singing voice for the vocals. I would be responsible for the production on GarageBand, the selection of sound effects, and, of course, the parody lyrics. If I submit the recording to AmIRight, it would most likely be credited to "Andria & Destroyer" (after my buddy's CB/walkie-talkie handle).

Rock On, Andria!! 555!! I'm in the mood for some Guitar Hero, now!

Thanks, Christie Marie. I suck at Guitar Hero, by the way.
