The Lyrics

I get dressed.
I go out.
I have quite a few things which I have to get done today.
I need not bother.

There's no milk
And no bread.
And now my car broke down; so I can't shop for a birthday
Card for my father.

So I sit down, get to thinking.
Why do I try to get things done?
All for nothing.
Might as well lay out in the sun.

I wake up,
Leave early.
No matter how fast I move I won't be to work until
At least 9:30.

(horn break)

Though I've got time, I do nothing.
I see no use in going out.
And try for nothing.
It only makes me scream and shout.

The bus comes,
Then goes by.
I rush to catch the train to find I'm on the wrong side of
The subway station.

I wait for
A taxi.
The center of midtown Manhattan and I can't believe
There 're no cabs coming.

So from now on I'll do nothing.
I'll get just as many things done.
But there's one thing...
I'll burn from laying in the sun.
