The Lyrics

We'd go riding around,
Care-free, and just nowhere bound.
No greater fun could be found,
Than bouncing along in those rumbling rumbleseats...

Cars of the past had behind,
Seats - in the trunk - cushioned lined,
Here we'd relax, ease our mind,
Riding around in those rumbling rumbleseats...

Back in..great days of jazz
Those old cars had razzmatazz

Fun..was bouncing along
Smoo-ching or singing a song,
With the right girl, we'd be lo-ong,
Fooling around in those rumbling rumbleseats

(Rumbleseats, rumbleseats!)

They folded up, opened down,
We were the scat of the town,
In long fur coats, college hound
Riding along in our rumbling rumbleseats...

Got high, (got high) on bathtub gin
Nice fresh air, a little sin..

We'd go rolling along,
Smoo-ching, and singing a song,
With the right girl, we'd be lo-ong,
Cruising thru life in our rumbling rumbleseats
,
(Rumbleseats, rumbleseats)

Rumble....seats

AFW - Thanks for enlightening me. I always thought the "Rumble" seats were in the end zone at Heinz Field...lol. I once tried making a homemade rumble seat by putting lawn chairs in my trunk. It brought new meaning to the phrase "Hit The Road!". Nice job here as usual. ;D

AFW - After reading your parody I looked on Youtube and there were a few songs about rumbleseats. They were fun but yours is the Cats Meow..... Weren't..Rumbleseats were for the inlaws, hoping you'd hit a big pothole, they would eject out..No ? Ra- Ra- Sis- Boom- Ba ! What just happened to your Ma and Pa ?

Thanks, Dave, I'm not old enough to remember new cars with 'em...but my sister's boyfriend had an older Ford coupe with one..back in middle Forties..and got to ride in it when I was still a wee child.
