The Lyrics

This is not a funny parody, but rather a serious statement against our President Bush to the tune of "Bridge over Troubled Water"
When we're weary
Feeling sore
When tears are in our eyes
Bush will start a war

He's on our side
When times get rough
And Allies can't be found
While Bush rules our troubled country
We will be at war
While Bush rules our troubled country
We will be at war

While we're done and out
People on the street
While bombs are falling hard
Bush will "comfort" us

He'll take our part
And help darkness come
Then pain is all around
While Bush rules our troubled country
We will bully all
While Bush rules our troubled country
We will bully all

Shoot on, desert troops
Shoot them down
Your time has come to die
All your tears will go unseen

See how they cry
When they die for oil
The truth we hide behind
While Bush rules our troubled country
He will doom us all
While Bush rules our troubled country
He will doom us all

Die for oil? Where have you been? Do you remember 9/11 at all? Bush promised to go after the terrorists and he is! Hopefully, I have read your song wrong.

Hello, I'm the one who wrote these alternate lyrics and I'm really not interested in debating with anybody. Please just take or leave the song. No one can change how I feel so please don't waste your time by posting flaming replies. I know we all feel differently about the situation, and I respect everybody's opinion whether it matches my own or not. So please respect mine. Thank you all for taking the time read my lyrics, and God bless.

Mike - Why don't you be a man and apoligise to Pat. You called her the "B" word and the rules of this forum say this is not permitted. It is one thing to debate out here but DO NOT attack anyone personally. You need to settle down and take some meds for that condition of yours. \O/.

Sure glad to see that someone removed that garbage comment that was in here yesterday. What a potty mouth that guy was. Thanks, whoever.

There is a huge disparity in the votes on this song. Shame on all of you who voted in the bottom two for pace. The Pace of this song is at least a 4.0. Just because you disagree with the words of the song does not give you the justification to mark it down so. This voting should be honest. Just like voting up on something that is not so good just because the sentiments happen to agree with yours. Both are equally wrong. I do not agree with the message but I voted it for its worth not its content in this area. When they make a voting block for how you agree with the topic and content of the parody then people should vote this way. Shawna, Your pace is good 4.5, funny it is not but you say that and overall I'd call it around 4.5.

HI Guy, thank you very much for your comments. I know that most people can't put aside their opinions to make the vote fair, but I understand completely. No biggie. Have a great day!

I liked the parody, Shawna. It's kind of like how you can like certain songs even though the lyrics are counter to your views...like "Revolution" or "War" or "The Way It Is". Sometimes I try to detach politics from music so that I can enjoy the tunes, dig? Good job, don't let anyone deter you from speaking your mind, that's what this country was built on (even though I disagree with your view).

I liked this as well. Of course I agree with it, so it's a bit easier, but I try not to trash the ones I don't agree with as well.

perhaps u can come up with a parody about how the president of the U.S.A. went to all our so called allies for help in this war then agreed with our allies to 3 new resolutions and then only after these resolutions were broken by saddam hussein did president bush do what the resolutions said they would do which is use force if saddam did not comply with them. remember to make it clear that these resolutions were agreed upon and put in place by the U.N. then perhaps u can add in the song how when it came time to enforce the reolutions france, germany and russia did everything they could to stop it. was it because they cared about the iraqi people? quite the contrary. it was because they didnt want the world to know they were writing permission slips for saddam to murder &, starve his citizens , children included, in exchange for oil. so dont be afraid to add a line or 2 about how all the protesters accusing us of fighting for oil were so blinded by hate for president bush that they neglected to see our so called friends/allies cover up their own crimes against the iraqi people in the name of OIL.. like they say u know who your real friends are in times of trouble and in times of need. and indeed we did find out the truth. thanks for you time. tom m ps. i'm not a professional writer so forgive any grammatical errors on my part. thanks for understanding.

shawna ,,,,u begin the song by stating "this is not a funny parody but rather a serious statement against our president bush ".............i believe serious statements against our president should allow for serious rebuttal............ i would also like to apologize for voting little across the board. i did it out of emotion and before i read guy dirito' june 12 comment, which makes alot of sense. and also before i read the caption on how the authors spend alot of time on their parodies............so everybody should consider my votes partisan and thereby disqualified.............sorry and thank you .............tom m.

Nice job - 555 - I decided "how funny" means "how passionate" on this one. We need to get rid of this pro-war administration filled with liars; we need someone who will be strong on terrorism; we need someone who will make the citizens of our country safer; we need John Kerry.
