The Lyrics

In the 1920s, two brothers named Lutz and Heinz Heck embarked upon a mission- to back-breed two extinct species of animals. One was the Tarpan Horse and the other Auroch cattle. The Hecks believed that a species is not truly extinct if the genes are still present in living species. As such they can be back-bred into existance. Over two decades the directors of the Berlin and Munich Zoos continued their work and gradually succeeded with Nazi help. The Auroch cattle had disappeared in the 16th century due to hunting by E Prussian, Polish, and Russian nobility. Therefore, with Goering's help a primitive untouched location had to be found to protect the reintroduced species. Since Germany conquered Poland, Bialoweiza forest was chosen. All resident non-Aryans as well as Jews, Polish resistance, and Russian partisans were either transported out or exterminated. Goering had intended the area as a protected game preserve. The Aurochs were taken there with some animals kept at the zoos. With the bombing campaign the Berlin Zoo animals perished but the ones in Munich survived as well as many of the Aurochs in Bialoweiza forest. The Poles did not want the Nazi animals and pushed them out. But many survived and have made it from Germany to Belgium and then in 2009 over to the UK in Devon. The animals are not being used for meat and dairy yet but the demand for the Nazi burgers continues and is growing despite some resentment by the locals of anything from that regime. Heck cattle are not destined for the menu yet, but are one of the most popular on the wish list!!!
A wish for the menu
about time

Some extinct meat for you to chew
Heck meat sizzlin’
Resistance fizzlin’

Heck brothers back-bred it
No Aurochs found
Genes in living species
Manipulation brought them back around

[Folks hungry for the meat to be ground]

A wish for the menu
about time
Rare find

Mmm… good
Mmm… good
Mmm… good
Nazi Burgers tasty
And no one cares
About legacy
(been gone since)
16th century!!!

[Demand is plenty]

Want to eat
A wish for the menu
about time
(that Nazi beef)
