"False Prophet, Part II"

The Lyrics

This is about Harold Camping's false prediction of the May 21, 2011 rapture of the Church. I will not go into religious beliefs, but only that Camping has been proven a false prophet before and we can expect the same for ANY date-setter. In the O/T he would have been stoned to death...
False Prophet, Part II
No yet the time…

Camping, you better stop playin’ the fool
You’re lyin’
Stop prophesyin’

Christians, dare not believe it
This second time around
Camping was wrong in 1994
May 21, 2011 will also prove another let-down

False Prophet, Part II
No yet the time…
You’re asinine

You love it
You love it
You love it
You love having power
And I don’t care
If you try to scare me
“No one knows the day or hour”

Rapture- to eternity
False Prophet, Part II
No yet the time…

As you said in a previous comment, the Tribulation is a seven year event. I can't begin to follow the math and calendar tricks this evangelist is performing. On the other hand, if my Christian brother-in-law suddenly vanishes Saturday afternoon...

I'm not much into the TOC on account I am of agnostic religion, which now is almost completely at a neutral status, But I am for the OS and can tell a good paced parody when I read it, so it still deserves a 555 in my book! :-)

Since the Rapture will occur with the sounding of a trumpet it is logical that it will almost certainly fall on Rosh Hashana in some year. That is when they sound the shofar (ram's horn) and the New Jewish Year begins. It is also the start of the High Holy Days in Israel and is followed by Yom Kippur and Sukkot- the Day of Atonement and Feast of Tabernacles. My personal view is that the rapture will occur during Rosh Hashana, the Antichrist will stop the daily sacrifice at the Third Temple during Yom Kippur half-way through the Trib Period, and Christ will return at Armageddon during Sukkot.

Note that this parody was specifically targeting H. Camping's bogus prediction and NOT trying to preach at anyone. I do not believe in shoving your religious beliefs down someone's throat... but if someone asks a question then I fel it is my duty to present what the Bible says. If you don't believe in the Bible, Talmud, or Qu'ran, no problem. We all have free will and are free moral agents...
It Ain't the End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine) - May 17, 2011 - Report this comment
Good parody. I didn't know this shillmeister predicted the End for 1994 too. Was it for May 10, perhaps? Here in America we were treated to an exciting stupendous annular solar eclipse (astronomers and the media dubbed it a "ring of fire" to its appearance). The sky got dark in the early afternoon, people were driving with their lights on, all the birds and animals went to roost and the temperature dropped over 15 degrees! It was radical, freaky and COOL ; ) On the other side of planet Earth South African apartheid ended as Nelson Mandela became the President of a new multiracial multiethnic democratic South Africa. The transition from fascism to democracy began there. I witnessed the eclipse but not the swearing in. I had fun that day, it didn't look like Doomsday at all!

I remember the 1994 eclipse. I borrowed a welder's mask so I could watch it directly. Grew up reading end time prophecies of Herbert W and Garner Ted Armstrong. I recall their doomsday booklet "1975 in Prophecy". Falls in the same category as "The Coming End of Fidel Castro", published about 20 years ago. A Jewish friend of mine used to use a shofar (ram's horn) to call his son home from the park down the street.

Also the Bible never stated when the rapture will happen.
