Michael, nice to see that you are juding me and not my song parodies!!! Let's analyze what you wrote... Won the Election- OK Saved the Economy??? WTF??? 12% unemployment, home foreclosures not reached the bottom yet, $4 gas, millions of jobs that were lost not created, domestic growth minimal- False, as we asre STILL in a recession!!! Healthcare? Poorest version approved just to get it passed and now it will be repealed by GOP. False. Got Bin Laden... 1/2 credit b/c if not for the GWB Intel tactics, the US might not have found him. War in Iraq ended? False, still garrisoned and too weak to govern itself. Nobody knows what candidates the GOP will field for 2012... yet... too early...

If the health care plan is so wonderful, why are all the States suing to stop it, and why is the administration selling exemptions to its provisions to certain corporations? Should the unemployment rate remain in the 15% to 20% range, and gas be priced at $5 a gallon, why should anyone vote for Obama. Though in fact, he probably has little effect on either number, nor should he, under the Constitution. There is nothing he can do, and the sooner he starts doing it, the better off the country will be.

I'm saying this strictly from a neutral stance, Rob--when you post a political parody, you can't honestly expect there no to be an ideological response. The parody is about politics, and you want no political response--that's not a very fair statement. I will leave your statistics to you as I know the real ones following business closely as a stockholder who follows business reports from the government very closely and know that the majority are not factual statements, that said I agree on some of your points too such as "we are still in a recession". . .and to act like the GOP is without problems and yielding them as saviors etc, you can't expect those who disagree not to have opinions or to voice them. I agree this place IS supposed to be fun, that's why I rarely comment on political parodies because they inherently are not, because most draw a very distinct side, report biased unsubstantiated opinions, and are usually incendiary towards the opposition group(s). While I've always disagreed with one bombing the pacing of a song for ideology, you can't post a highly opinionated political piece and not expect dissenters to find the parody funny and high on the overall side, that's unreasonable. I'm not saying this to make you mad, you know from what little back and forth commentary we've had my heart here is in comedy. I just don't expect people to agree with my ideology or opinions anywhere. I did not rate/comment/ or vote on this parody--which is typical for me when I A) see a political parody, which I avoid or B) See a parody to a song I dislike. . .in this case both are true, I rarely comment on Screamin Jay Hawkins parodies, save a couple by John Barry due to particular titles that caught my attention, because I don't like his artistry, especially his signature song that you have parodied here--nothing personal, just my opinion.

I rate only people's songs. And even so with the anti-Obama material it still is a parody. Why is it if I mock my own party then the DEMs will give me 555... but say something against Obama and he's taboo??? NOTHING is taboo for atrue parody artist. BTW, I am a MAD magazine reader all my life and age 47 still love the non-PC stuff!!! TY for your input though and I will never ding someone on ideology. Say what you want about the GOP- I hated things about the second term of GWB and the foreign wars, debt, etc... and yet can praise DEMs like FDR and JFK. Carter and Clinton? No Way!!!

Again, saying this from a neutral standpoint, what you are saying is you can read a parody that you strongly disagree with and still give it a 5 for funny? Let alone pacing, which I fully agree that giving a 1 for a well paced parody because you disagree with it would be wrong, but lets say someone writes a parody glorifying killing all those who aren't a particular religion. No one on this page, you, me, MP, etc would find that funny. . .thus if we were to rate it, would we note 1 it on Funny and potentially overall if it made no valid points? That's what I'm saying is when you post an ideological parody people of the opposite opinion will likely not find it funny, which is a legitimate opinion. Now I personally have been around the site long enough to see pro-dem stuff get one bombed too, it is rare that either party leaves reasons on the other parties parodies. This is one of many reasons I generally avoid posting political parodies, it brings stuff in that are strictly my opinion and I have always felt this is not why I got into parody, I got into parody because I like making people laugh, and sure you can do that with political parodies, but some people aren't going to like it. In fact, if everyone DOES like a political parody, it probably isn't very good--no one bombs on a political parody means it didn't really hit someone strong enough to form an opinion, rare exceptions exist such as the finding of Osama or the disgust at Sudan--those are universal among both parties. For the record, I am neither Democrat or Republican, I have personal issues with BOTH parties, and I'm not a Tea Party guy or Libertarian (though some of the Libertarian ideals I do agree with, I'm yet to hear of a candidate that fully embodies that mind set) either. . .none of them represent my ideology which I won't fully discuss here because its not why I am here. I am here choosing to engage in this conversation because I don't want you to burn rubber trying to convince someone not to vote on ideology when its inevitable with this type of parody, you will lose focus on being funny and steer into extreme political drivel which can cause intense dislike by those who disagree and bias towards you by those who do like you, resulting in dishonest voting and commentary on both sides of the plate. Politics CAN be funny, but if they are, they will anger someone, regardless of party. That's my main point. I don't do political parodies precisely for this reason, that and I don't want to be perceived as heavily democrat or republican, I can laugh at the shortcomings of both parties, but people such as yourself and Micahel Pacholek having clear ideologies, which I respect, even though I may occasionally disagree so long as certain boundaries aren't crossed. . .I hope you understand where I'm coming from, Rob, I really do. I've seen many people get burnt out over political parodies, you came on here like a bolt of lightning, almost too quick for me to keep up and try to engage you in conversation, I'm sick of seeing writers leave fully or partially over silly things, and I don't want to see you drive yourself out by letting peoples opinions get to you any more than I'd want to see Michael Pacholek disappear from the site; both of you have a right to your opinions, those differences are what makes the world so unique, but when you voice them you have to expect dissenters. If you want to post such work, do so, but don't be upset when those who disagree don't find them funny or valid. . .
