During WW2, indeed before in the 1920s, there were daring conventional and unconventional thoughts on spaceflight. While Oberth, Noordung, and Von Braun worked on terrestrial space ambitions of orbiting circular space stations and powerful conventional space rockets, the Vril Chefin and Thule Gesellschaft worked with the SS on unconventional spaceflight with SS Technical Branches E-IV and E-V. E-IV was tasked with German disc aircraft development (Flugscheiben) while E-V later was tasked with building two giant Zeppelin-like spaceships meant to travel to the Taurus Constellation to Aldebaran- 64 light years away. Vril psychics claimed communication with ancient alien life and received instructions on how to build machinery to achieve channeled spaceflight- travel through a pinprick White Hole or dimesional spaceflight travel. They had been working on this since 1922 with the JFM machine and on to some experimental Vril 7 Geist machines. By 1945 the US Army came upon massive camouflage hangars similar to the Zeppelin ones which contained a huge cylindrical object. Nobody knew what ot was but b/c of the exposed aerials assumed it was a massive radio tower. But it was of strange construction and a soldier climbed on it and discovered a cockpit entrance, Upon entering it was obvious that it was a strange flight machine missing critical instrumentation as well as the massive propulsion units.
