The Lyrics

Modern cowboys do it on wheels. Some, driving certain Toyota vehicles, do it involuntarily. TOS begged for open spaces, which you'd better cede to them. Rear view mirrors today are not just for applying makeup!
Oh, give me road, lots of road
Under skylight roof above.
Don't cut me off !
Let me ride, throttle wide open,
Stunt tricks that I love.
Don't cut me off !

Let me speed by myself like the evenin' breeze,
Whizzin' past your Hummer in a spot-on good squeeze.
Tailgate me forever; you can't pass with ease.
Don't cut me off !

Just turn me loose,
Let me straddle that old center-
Line as one-abreast car flies.
Not my abuse,
My gas pedal's to the metal
Till I seek those recall guys.

I want to slide through the bridge
Where the frost commences,
Race like a loon as I excuse offenses.
Can't hook my seat belt as a crash it senses;
That cut me off !@#$%^&*

That was a riot! $555 worth of damage.

I can't "recall" anything better. Did you see the Congressional investigation? We treated the Nuremburg defendants with more courtesy and respect! ;D

I don't laugh at accidents due to SUV (sudden unwanted velocity), but many may involve driver error. Toyota has an enviable reliability record, and I would hate to see more government regulations because of a few tragic cases. The best remedy is to shut off the ignition; shifting into neutral can overspeed the engine and destroy it.

Wonderful job, Barry -- as usual. You're right, Ribber -- and one needs to consider that those congress-critters grilling Mr. Toyoda were the owners of Toyota's main competitor. Can you say "conflict of interest?" I knew you could!

This is the definitive driving song, it'd be great to listen to while driving on an open road. Cool parody 555's

That's the problem about driving highways! I go through it every time when I used to go to work and going home from work! Highways are the most annoying roads. It's not that I'm afraid (though I still am even driving it), I hate putting up with heavy rush-hour traffic, maniacs, detour signs, getting lost going to the wrong exit or missing it, and some roads where there's not a sign in sight. Well done, Barry! You sped 55.5 mph with this one!

Thanks; all y'all git home safe 'n' sound, now y'hear? Cinch 'em saddle straps snuglike 'n' keep both hands on the reins. Only give 'er some head when the trail is clear, 'n' keep a keen eye fer bushwhackers lyin' in ambush.

LOL parody and outro comments! (I happen to own a Toyota myself... never any trouble with it whatsoever. It *is* a somewhat older model by now, though. Then again, so am I...) :)

My parents had the OS (not by Roy Rogers - can't remember the singer) on a 45 when I was a kid and I loved it. Nice to see it parodied.

Thanks again. @ Mark: Remember, the presumption of innocence should apply to corporations, too.
@ Fiddlegirl: I've owned a 1995 Corolla and a 2003 Camry, six-plus years each, no problems.
@ Meriadoc: Bing Crosby and Ella Fitzgerald recorded it, among others.

Excellent parody of an excellent song, Barry, and Toyota's image is certainly scarred by now. FTR, I've owned two Toyotas, a '79 Corona and a '78 Cressida, and they had reliable engines and brakes with everything else rusting, breaking, failing or disintegrating. Maybe you and Fiddlegirl never bought formerly abandoned cars from impound auctions. ;-) 5s.
