Song Parodies -> "Mel and His Hernia"

Original Song Title:

"Me and My Shadow"

Original Performer:

Perry Como

Parody Song Title:

"Mel and His Hernia"

Parody Written by:

Giorgio Coniglio's Grandson

The Lyrics

It helps the meter if you pronounce hernia as hurn-YA.
Mel:
Me with my hernia, shuffling down the promenade.
It's disconcerting, perhaps that's why for months I haven't played.
Its always in my pants - lopsided bulge,
But chicks who check don't want to indulge.
For me and my hernia - time has come to to part our ways.

Mel's Friend:
Mel and his hernia, huffing down the avenue ("Hey, Mel)
Fellas discern 'cause it's so displaced, it's not quite out-of-view.
What sets things right: herniorrhaphy*.
(Don't get upset! NOT hysterectomy.)
So, go have your surgery, soon, before that thing turns blue."

* hurn-YOR-a-FEE (or more conventionally hur-nee-YOR-a-fee).

Not happy because I couldn't find any old-timey videos of this song on Youtube; best was the Mills brothers.
