"Shouldn't Mitt Be Governing?"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

With the Republican nominee for U.S. president nearly assured, individual members of Congress might be singing my parody of TOS.
[spoken]
Another lull in town. I think I'll take re-cess leng-thy. [1]
Mmmmmm. Republicans are hopin' for the castle in D.C.
My broker recommends acquiring precious metals three! [2]
Mmmm. Mmmm, wouldn't that flee poverty?

[sung]
All I want is a boom that's fair,
Not delayed by ObamaCare
With One's enormous fare.
Why shouldn't Mitt be governing?

Lots of stock bets would be so sweet,
Bought and sold makin' hot Wall Street.
He'd race, withstand O.'s heat;
Oh, wouldn't that be lov-e-ly?

Now, our government's split an' absolutely gridlocked still.
It will never budge till things / change / over on Cap'tol Hill. [3]

Senate's fled, session ev'ry three; [4]
Barack fends for N.L.R.B. and wakes C.F.P.B. [5]
Ow! Wouldn't that be slovenly? [6]
Government covertly, shoved out by Gov. Romney!

[Repeat song after musical interlude]
[1] Congress has gone home but not officially recessed.
[2] gold, platinum and silver
[3] The same party dominates both houses.
[4] pro-forma meeting for minor business every third day
[5] Appointed three members to National Labor Relations Board and a head for new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
[6] in the sense of ignoring the Constitution and Senate rules

I'd have liked to have seen the repeated verses done with some more - there's some excellent substitutions in this, starting at the title. Not entirely sure I agree with the politics, though :-)

Thanks, PA. I'm working on a "repeat" that begins "Haul me gaunt to a tomb that's bare, Early laid by ObamaCare." But you'll disagree with that too. ;^)

Considering how he screwed up Massachusetts in his one term -- one because he was too chicken to run against a politician a lot like Obama -- no, Mitt should NOT be governing. Unless you want him to kill EVERY American's job, like he started to do at the Bain of our existence.

MP: Well, if you feel that strongly, replace "Mitt Romney" with "Rick Perry".

cg: You got it; I'm more anti-Obama than pro-Romney. Perry fits TOS better.

BJM - Obama doesn't need to waste time on Romney...Gingrich and Perry are doing his dirty work for him! Great to see you're alive and kicking, especially since I am dormant. ;D

OMR: Thanks; In yesterday's debate, Santorum also knocked Romney well.
