"It's Snowing Down In Texas"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

A former student of mine earlier this winter claimed that the state of Texas had outlawed snow! It's a shame Mother Nature has such little respect for the law! ;D

Oh, it's snowing down in Texas -
Chilly noses, frozen ears.
It's been the biggest blizzard
That they've had in thirty years.
There's a fluffy cold white blanket
That is covering the earth -
Almost thirteen inches fallen
Down in Dallas and Fort Worth!

Folks are stranded at the airports.
There are snapping power lines.
This must be quite unusual
In Tyler and Grapevine.
There's a lot of white in Longview,
In Payne Springs and Nacogdoches,
And it's so deep in Dallas that
There are snowshoes on the roaches!

There is much more snow in Texas
Than at the Olympic Games.
And the so-called experts tell us
Global warming is to blame!
Now the Lone Star State will dig out,
It will be a mighty chore,
And the record snows of Texas
Made a monkey of Al Gore!

Hey Winter - Y'all come back now, y'hear!

I have some friends in Texas who were totally taken by surprise with all the snow. Lately, it's been 55 to 60 degrees and either sunny or pouring down rain where I am, and you wrote a good parody of a good song. 5s.

Texas is so much farther south than Los Angeles and is hotter than heck all year. Is that a first?
