The Lyrics

LOFTY THE POSTMAN

Lofty the postman was the tallest man in town,
He would sing all day as he made his way
On his early morning round.

Lofty the postman had a smile for everyone;
He was never sad and he always had
A way of having fun.

No matter what the weather
Even when it rained or poured.
He’d make sure all your mail was dry
As he pushed it through your door.

So, Lofty the postman, he would never let you down.
If he had his way, he would make your day
Wherever you were in town.

He wasn’t scared of cats or dogs;
He laughed them all away.
And when the children saw him come
They all knew he’d stop and play.

Lofty the postman, he was everybody’s friend;
They all loved his style with his wave and smile,
He was cheerful to the end.
