The Lyrics

Lyrics don't have to fit the pacing of the original song and it is open to ad libs and improvising.
Spock: I gotta beam up
Leila: But, Baby, it's cold in space
My shore leave is up
But, Baby, it's cold in space.

This moment has been
( So lonely 'till you dropped in )
So meaningful
( Just feel the sun, it's wonderful )

Going AWOL is so improper
( Bubbeleh, what is the matter? )
I'm a starship science officer
( Just enjoy the balmy fresh air, Sir. )

So really I gotta transport
( If you do you'll break my heart )
But another hour or so is plenty
( 'Scuse me while I put on something pretty. )

I've been here for hours
( It's such a bore out there )
Hey! What are those flowers?
( No fun, it's a chore out there. )

You're getting to me
( Your eyes are undressing me )
That's so astute
( Your pointy ears are oh so cute! )

Hear the captain kvetch and moan, now
( Turn off that silly cel phone, now. )
At least i can say I'm held hostage
( I can give your captain the message. )

I really can't - POW - AAAUUUUGGGHHH!
( Baby, just chill out )
Both: Ah, but it's dark in space!

I really must go
( But, Baby, it's black in space )
I'm Vulcan, you know
( But, Baby, it's black in space )

I'm in control
( You're cute when you're logical )
Of my desires
( Your Vulcan mind just lights my fires )

I gotta get back to my duty
( I never met such a cutie )
The Klingons are up to no good
( Let's enjoy this romantic mood )

Doctor McCoy's mind is snarky
( Never mind that malarky )
Hey, that bikini's fascinating
( I save it for heavy dating )

I gotta beam up
( But, Baby, it's warm down here )
Ooh, don't take off my shirt
( You're getting so flushed, my dear )

We're going too far
( What if you start pon phar? )
But, don't you see -
( Just leave one little thing with me )

The crew will never let me live this down
( This isn't our first time around )
When they catch us taking off our clothes -
( Tell 'em it's just mosquitoes )

I gotta beam up
( C'mon, Spock, chill out )
Both: Ah, but it's dark in space!

Thanks, Warren and Dave - if you've seen every Star Trek episode like I did you will note that Kirk or Spock had a different squeeze in most episodes. They must have had kids all over the galaxy.

since you said this didn't need to follow the pacing I gave you all 5's and I had no idea that Kirk and Spock had such erm... busy love lives!

Thanks, Jon and AFW - did you watch every episode of Star Trek? My parody is about the episode "This Side of Paradise" where Leonard Nimoy played opposite the lovely Jill Ireland. It was a good one and I thought them singing a duet was funny.
