"Where Has All The Farmland Gone?"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Where has all the farmland gone, in Ohio?
Where has all the farmland gone, Indiana?
Where has all the farmland gone?
Gone to suburbs, every one!
There's too many Wal-Marts, there's too many Wal-Marts

Where has all the prairie gone, Oklahoma?
Where has all the prairie gone, Minnesota?
Where has all the prairie gone?
Gone to suburbs, every one!
Goodbye to the grasslands, goodbye to the grasslands

Where have the Everglades gone, in Florida?
Where have the Everglades gone, swamp is drying?
Where have the Everglades gone?
Gone to suburbs, every one!
The swamps are drying up, the swamps are drying up

And where has all the desert gone, California?
Where has all the desert gone, Arizona?
Where has all the desert gone?
Gone to suburbs, every one!
They waste precious water, they waste precious water

And where have all the suburbs gone, further outward?
Where have all the suburbs gone, in the mountains?
Where have all the suburbs gone?
Destroy nature, every one!
When will they ever learn, oh when will they ever learn?

Pete Seeger, who wrote the original, would agree, of course.

Heavy duty stuff but well done, Tim.

Tim, my small town is now a suburb. Not a cow or orange tree left standing. Some progress is good, but this looks like poor metro planning to me.

Where I grew up (and my parents still live) there is development all over and I remember as a young boy some of the roads nearby were gravel

I really recommend this song to anyone wary of either losing what makes America America (e.g. natural habitats).
