The Lyrics

My fledgling attempt at political parody. Because those in politics seem to be largely similar in temperament and behavior regardless of party affiliation, I tried to write this in general terms. That way, everyone is free to interpret it as they will and to assume it is directed toward whomever they wish. With that in mind, the pronoun "he" can easily be replaced with "she"... or even "they". Humbly submitted... with comments welcome, as always
Spare me, Lord, from Jack S. Politician
Cannot keep his ego in submission
Heavens, oh how great is his ambition
For his legacy.

Those who disagree with his position
Have become a hated coalition
Mocked and scorned, or thrown into perdition,
Burned in effigy

Opposing views? Forget it!
His stooges will discredit
For a son-of-a-something-or-other is he

Acts as though he has Divine Commission
To engage in Federal acquisition
Hoping for advantage by attrition
Of the bourgeoisie

Though I’m not a learn-ed statistician
Still I have a spark of intuition
If his plans should come into fruition
They may bury me

(I) don’t possess a friendly disposition
To the ideas of this smug patrician
When he plies his pseudo-erudition
On the citizenry

Spare me, Lord (Spare me, Lord!) from Jack S. Politician
Spare me, Lord (Spare me, Lord!) from Jack S. Politician
Spare me, Lord (Spare me, Lord!) from Jack S. Politician
And just set me free!

Nothing fledgling about his at all. :D Great concept, wonderful execution (both Fiddlegirl trademarks). I actually know the OS well and you did a bang-up job. BTW, the senator in the musical Little Abner was named Jack. S. Phogbound.

simple solution to these politicians- do what conservatives did in 2006, & 2008 - sit it out. STOP ENABLING THESE JERKS. Jessie Ventura showed america that 3rd party politicians can win. but liberals just wanna win, they dont care what it is that they win. enjoy poverty and our soon to be 3rd world america just so you guys can keep winning. seriously hopping you guys drop your " he's our guy" crap and vote responciblly instead of enabling big spenders who bail out the rich while allowing them to file BK afterwards. shame on you's. many conservatives quit helping idiots like mc cain and the other republican turds. we decided to be mature and stand up for ourselfs. your turn now.

Thanks, all. OMR: I'm a big fan of Li'l Abner and Al Capp's brilliant satire! The "Jack S." was, in fact, a nod to that and I should have given appropriate credit. :) Mark, TJC, BJ21, and CM: You guys are too funny (and "punny")...

A star is born! You must not have ten songs here (no home page), but this alone is enough to enter the sanctum sanctorum of where the elite meet to bleat (you'll get the sheep reference some day lol), but not to Tweet, and often indiscreet. 555 for the incredible title switch alone. Nailed the mothers -- liked the generic disclaimer -- fave line from a book:

"It is a truism of American politics that no one who deserves to win an election can ever win one."

You said that too -- with much more wit. Welcome, welcome, welcome, from this learned statistician to your satirical cognition! Humor e-mission accomplished!

Good one. I'm so sick of seeing those political ads with candidates badmouthing their opponants.
