The Lyrics

youtube

This is for the actual TV theme and not the extended vocal versions that were released as singles. Here
are the original lyrics.
This is a song that doesn't have a long
First stanza
If anyone wants any song that's long
This really isn't it

You could, I reckon, say it for the second
Stanza
Sorta like the first, it's really kinda terse
Blah blah, and then that's it

Less than four
More than one
'Cept for this there's three

Well this is it, we've fooled around and hit
Third stanza
That's all there is, so when we come to this
It's a good time to quit

Third stanza, that's it

Wranglin' up 555 head a cattle for ya!!! Now, can you add a syllable and do "Tony Danza" or alternately "Angela"- when Tony walks in on her naked in the shower ;-D

Thanks! Yeah, I thought about doing "Tony Danza" but I was afraid it would inspire him to create another sitcom and use it as the opening theme.

You expect 5's for that Porfle? You wrote a song about not writing a song ;D But seriously, Porfs, I do believe somebody did write a Bonanza-Danza parody. It was quite good. I can't seem to locate it though

And Rob, here's one that would be right up your alley -- "Lufthanza" I got a flight that wil take all night Lufthanza (lol)

Lennie--"Bonanza-Danza" sounds like something you'd order at Baskin-Robbins!

CML... it's Lufthansa, but Danke for the info. I definately WILL have to do that one! The He-111, Fw-200, and a few other LW a/c originally were airliners and were designed for quick conversion. But actually it was the Weimar Republic that started covert rearmament back in 1919!!! Their projected first bomber was a Rohrbach design. And lastly, the Fw-200 Condor sunk 450,000 tons of shipping making it the 4th most successful anti-shipping weapon after the U-boats, commerce raiders, and mines! The Kriegsmarine was largely neutralized in WW2 but is known for the 1945 evacuation of E Prussia with 2.2 million Germans retrieved, making Dunkirk look like nothing special.

Some westerns just aren't meant to be musicals! I have the 1st season DVD where the Cartwrights are singing at the end of the first episode. I can't blame Adam for not joining in.

I like musicals (actually all genres of music and movies) but had not seen "Oklahoma" until recently. It is really good- no wonder so many parodies of the songs just like "Sound of Music"!!! I just don't do well with Westerns. Amazingly Hitler loved US western novels and German author Karl May wrote about the old west with his version of the Lone Ranger- Old Shatterhand who also had an Apache sidekick Winnetou. Hitler dispersed copies to his Generals and troops during WW2- even Rommel had the series! I have a link at my old site, I'll see if I can provide it...

Wow, I'd never have guessed the Fuhrer had a thing for sagebrush epics. I guess Ian Fleming nicked the name "Shatterhand" from Karl May for "You Only Live Twice."
