The Lyrics

See also: 1966 version. My first Ol' Hank parody.
Your cheatin' wood will make you weep.
You'll cry and cry, you're caught, you creep.
Those hits won't come, your bat's not true.
Your cheatin' wood will tell on you.

When cork comes out, or rubber balls
they'll toss you out, those umpires' calls.
Your walk of shame, your chance you blew.
Your cheatin' wood will tell on you.

Your cheatin' wood, from Louisville
you thought would make the fans all thrill.
Against the rules, I thought you knew.
Your cheatin' wood will tell on you.

When cork comes out, or rubber balls
they'll toss you out, those umpires' calls.
Your walk of shame, your chance you blew.
Your cheatin' wood will tell on you.
Your cheatin' wood will tell on you.

Oops: Just found out this song was recorded in 1952, at what turned out to be Hank's last session before his prescription drug/alcholol-induced death. Not 1949.
