The Lyrics

I can't believe I was so unoriginal as to do 'Major General' again, but I couldn't get the lyric "candidate for Vietnam or Watergate" out of my head and at first it sounded to me like a Major General parody ... then I realised that it was from Bicycle Race by Queen. So the song combining forces struck, and hey presto!
I am a famous singer and I want to ride my bicycle
No matter if it's hot or if I'm chilly as an icicle
In any park or city street, I want to be there on my bike
I want to ride it all around, I want to ride it where I like
And if it comes to colours, you say black, but I prefer it white
You ask if the dogs bark and so I must inquire, do they bite
And you might care for sharks, but I have never been that fond of Jaws
No movie's made it big for me, and I strongly dislike Star Wars

No movie's made it big for him, and he strongly dislikes Star Wars
No movie's made it big for him, and he strongly dislikes Star Wars
No movie's made it big for him, and he strongly dislikes the film Star Wars

In God I want a choice, I'm not a child, I don't like Peter Pan
I've never put my trust and faith in Frankenstein or Superman
But if the weather's boiling hot, or I'm cold as an icicle
I am a famous singer and I want to ride my bicycle

But if the weather's boiling hot, or he's cold as an icicle
He is a famous singer and he wants to ride his bicycle

They're racing in your district so forget if you are duty-bound
Fat bottomed girls are riding and they make the rocking world go round
Get out upon your bicycle, it's not a day to stay inside
Especially if those beauties with fat bottoms are all out to ride
They remind me of a nanny that I had when just a skinny lad
She taught me lots of things before I even could tell good from bad
I hope they let it all hang out, I hope they take me home tonight
I hope that we can snuggle up down by that old red firelight

He hopes that they can snuggle up down by that old red firelight
He hopes that they can snuggle up down by that old red firelight
He hopes that they can snuggle up so tight down by that old red firelight

So line up here and mount your bikes, on your marks, get set and go
To spend the day in bike races is one of the best ways I know
Let me not see a single one of you upon a tricycle
I am a famous singer and I want to ride my bicycle

Let us not see a single one of you upon a tricycle
He is a famous singer and he wants to ride his bicycle

You may think Coke is cola, but you say coke and I say caine
You think John means Travolta, I assure you that I mean John Wayne
You think this song is nonsense, but I know it's esoterica
Don't want to be the president and rule over America
If you're holding up a camera, want me to smile, I say cheese
You offer me the Cartier, I'm tired of it, help me please
I have no love for politics, don't want to be a candidate
I'll keep my nose right out of things like Vietnam and Watergate

He'll keep his nose right out of things like Vietnam and Watergate
He'll keep his nose right out of things like Vietnam and Watergate
He'll keep his nose right out, right out of things like Vietnam and Watergate

By now you should have understood that I just want to go ride my bike
Fat bottomed girls beside me and I want to go ride where I like
So whether hot and humid or if I freeze to an icicle
I am a famous singer and I want to ride my bicycle

So whether hot and humid or he freezes to an icicle
He am a famous singer and he wants to ride his bicycle
Esoterica must be one of the few words that rhymes with America - Forteen and Baeutiful's parody 'Esoterica' was quite handy in this respect.
