"Frank Sinatra"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

He started in the Forties, sang for Tommy D.
A skinny kid - looked like he never ate
Curly mop and bow tie - girls would faint to see
Put attendance records on the plate,
On the plate!
Stardom was his fate
Spawned an era of the bobby soxer ponies
Paved the way for others, like Damones & Tonys
Flourished thru the Forties - Fifties, downward zoom
Till he wowed 'em in that casting room
As Maggio - great part to play
And had the guts - to do it his way..

Fra-aaannnk Sinatra..
Was the master of the love refrain
Easy smile and croon
Could swoon the moon
Scooby-doo it right down like the rain
Fra-aaannnk Sinatra..
Won the Oscar - Grammy numbers high,
Critics all would cheer
When they would hear
Perfect pitch and acting from this guy..

The ladies all thought he was grand,
And the men liked the class he'd command
Real class, oh yes..
Tough guy! but charming, none the less
Like silk and rayen,
Style made him shine,
Frank Sinatra,
Frank Sinatra,
F. S.

Fra-aaannnk Sinatra,
Had a slight connection with the mob
In that Vegas clan,
Giancana, Sam,
Was a pal, with whom, he did hobnob
Fra-aaannnk Sinatra,
Romanced many Hollywood hot babes,
Rita Hayworth, oh,
Mar'lyn Monroe,
And slept in that House that once was Abe's..

He led his Ratpack through the woods
In that flick, "Robin And Seven Hoods"
Never at loss..
For charm..told creeps to just flake off..
Way before Springsteen
Came down the line,
Frank Sinatra,
Frank Sinatra
Was "Boss"

Frank Sinatra,
Frank Sinatra
Was "Boss"....

Frank kept goin'
Even in his eighties, flaunting poise
Drink in hand, he'd sing,
Ring-a-ding ding-ding
Smooth as when they nicknamed him "The Voice"
Fra-aaannnk Sinatra
Packed his concerts here and overseas
Dressed in casual garb
Got new wife, Barb
And revived old lover's memories..

Struck gold with "Ol Blue Eyes Is Back"
An "L.A. Is My Lady" attack..
Hits were his fate.
Life late...put "Duets" on the slate
Like no one else could..
He did it all!
Frank Sinatra,
Frank Sinatra
Was great!

Frank Sinatra,
Frank Sinatra
Was great!

Well done again. 555s here. Great singer, not so nice man, from what I've read. Personally I prefer his romantic, sweet-crooning early Tommy Dorsey stuff to the later, hard-bitten Nelson Riddle-arranged extravaganzas that he's most celebrated for. Ava didn't get a mention? She and Frank's escapades were the tabloid fodder of the day. His acting career was forgettable in my book, more related to his Hollywood contacts and his box-office clout than any particular talent in that area.

Thanks, LL...There were stories over the years, of his power plays, but that probably comes with the territory for many big stars...I'm sure they all wear many hats, but I just talent and stage presence...he was a master..I liked him in the early musicals like, "Take me out to the ball game" and "On the town" and I felt he really deserved the Oscar for "From Here To-" ...Of course, his ratpack films were just Put-Ons and comradery, but always fun to watch...I got into the Ratpack

Good parody AFW, but I was never too keen on Sinatra. I much preferred Dean Martin.
