The Lyrics

Bank Holidays in Britain can be a nightmare. Everyone trying to get away for the weekend at once. Don't bother stay at home! "Bait" ; In North East England "Bait " is what you take to work with you to eat (packed lunch by any other name). Can also be taken on trip out.
Well we shoulda got the bus
And saved ourselves the bother
'cos we're stuck in traffic and
we,re hot under the collar
Well I turned to my baby
Said" it's time that we ate"
But the wife says "No dice cos
you didn't fetch the bait

Sometimes I wonder
What I'm gonna do
But there aint no cure
For Bank Holiday Blues

Well my mam and dad told me
That it isn,t very funny
If you want to drive the car on Bank Holiday Sunday
Well, I'd rather be at work
Of the traffic I'm sick
I can't budge the car and
It's getting on my wick

Sometimes I wonder...........

It's gonna take two weeks to reach our destination
We must be sharing this weekend
With the rest of the nation
Well, I called the weatherline and they said (Quote)
"You'll never see the sun, take a vest and a coat"

Sometimes I wonder......

Well we shoulda got the bus and
saved ourselves the bother
'cos we're stuck in traffic and
we're hot under the collar

Sometimes I wonder......

Yeah, sometimes I wonder what I'm gonna do
But there ain't no cure for Bank Holiday Blues
No, there ain't no cure for Bank Holiday Blues

Revealing look at traffic jams on the other side of the ocean (and the opposite side of the road). You all don't carry guns in your cars, so how do you express your sentiments at the other drivers? I heard you all use two fingers to express what we encapsulate in one. I liked that movie "Harry Browne" with Michael Caine. (All movies are required to include Michael Caine in at least a cameo appearance). Learned that "subway" is what we call an "underpass". Our "subway" must be your "tube" or "underground". Hope you finally get where you're going. Cause, "If You Don't Know Where You're Going, Any Road Will Take You There".

I work with the writer, I have a signed copy and when he makes his millions I will be the one who sang with him in the office - sounding like two strangled cats but lovin every minute of it. Well done my clever friend, love the words (quite clever really) very suitable and one day when you are famous remember we promised the red carpet, well done you, good lyrics, good humour - love it!!!!!
