Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

The U.S. Treasury Secretary nominee apologized awkwardly for his failure to pay self-employment tax for 2003-2004 until he was audited in 2006, and for 2001-2002 when he was vetted in 2008. Click here for the original song.
Tim's sorry now; Geithner pleads "Pow!" *
His start is shaky 'fore taking his vow.
He's bad? Not true! He cried "No clue";
Just paid and lied, overdue.

Tried to pretend 'twas his to spend
If IRS would allow.
Audit one day ended his play.
Prime cad is sure sorry now.

Right to the end, trust he'd amend.
Software would warn him somehow.
Self-employed pay, forgot? OK.
Tim's glad that Senate will bow.
* Muttered while striking his forehead with his palm during the committee hearing (I imagine). I'm at mailto:bjmitchel@att.net for feedback.

Amen - Treasury Sec is head of the IRS. Is he our new shining example to follow?

He said it was a "mistake" -- the Treas. Sec. can't understand the tax code, and they expect us poor slobs to understand it? 555

When Zoe Baird and Kimba Wood had similar tax issues, they were considered unift to be confirmed as Clinton's attorney general. So do we have a gender double standard or what?

JJ: Just coincidence that Wild Bill tried three females in a row? Too bad he ended up with Janet Reno, the six-foot-tall alligator wrestler (I was once in her jurisdiction), but Bill was never too choosy about his female company anyway :)

TT: I think Hillary told him he was going to have a woman AG - or else.

JJ: Or else what -- she'd cut him off? Ha! -- you'd think she'd demand *male* help, especially the interns :-) lol
