Some people say that their clothes aren't clean
And that I should take them off to be washed
What I don't understand is why
They can't do it all on their own

So now and then I make a trip off
To the dry cleaning place down on Eighth
I see some people I know and talk
While I put in ten dollars for change

I know they want the whites separate
I know they don't want them mixed with the fines
But then again
They are all to lazy
To come down here themselves
And do their own laundry today
Why should I do what they said?
But I put in a quarter instead
I set the washer water to cold
And then I put in the first washing load
I'm only willing to use this "Tide"
Because I am a dry cleanin man

Now that the load in the washer over there
Is just about ready to take out
I can put in another quarter for dry
I take the clothes out and put them the dryer
Put the blacks and the reds in this time
Instead of the jeans and the blues
Some people find that its easier
To do it all just at once

I know I might be doing it somewhat wrong
I know that I am not the best yet
But I'm not the only person who can't figure it out
There's some guy over there
Who's white underwear has just turned pink
I know there's now way to look cool in this joint
So I took out my novel at some point

Some people stay towards back of the store
Try to hide from the sin and the shame
And although I'm a 40 year old guy
I am now the dry cleanin man

I fold the clothes and I pack them up tight
I'm finally ready to go home for the night
The last load has finished
And I'm really tired
Wanna go get in bed
But then I remember something real bad
I have to come back tomorrow to do the loads
That I didn't get finished
It gives me chills knowing I have to come back
But then again
Some people come here everyday
