The Lyrics

He glanced down with hungry brown eyes
And said, "Man, I am hungr-ee"
Placed his anxious hands upon them,
Whispered, Mmm, they look tast-ee
He could hear the baker hummin'
In the early morning light
There would be no better breakfast
It was great to be alive..

There were Seven Danish Bagels
With a freshness, next to none
They were dripping snow white frosting
In the valley of the bun
When the stranger tasted Heaven
Thru the window sunbeams shone
Could not eat Seven Bagels,
He ate one, and took six home..

He said, "Baker, you're a genious.."
They're exquisite, they are grand
Food this good should be illegal
Just to touch 'em shakes my hand
I'll be back tomorrow morning
Bring a dozen of my friends
My hunger prayer was answered
With your magic baking blends..

There were Seven Danish Bagels
With a freshness, next to none
They were dripping snow white frosting
In the valley of the bun
When the stranger tasted Heaven
Thru the window sunbeams shone
Could not eat Seven Bagels,
Just had one, and took six home..

Just had one, and took six home..

Never tried Danish bagels, but if they're anything like Krispy Kreme donuts, then they've gotta be good! I have to quote Luigi from the Super Mario 3 show: "Or is it the bagel?" 555

I loved this Sir ! You really captured the scene of CowboyDave on Saturday Mornin' . . . his big hands draped around his cafeMug, waiting for his Polenta, Chompin' at his bit . . . How I love to cook Breakfast for Cowboys ! Say, how do you 'handle a hungry Man' ?

LCC..Ahh..yes, Cowboy Dave...what is Polenta? is it a Spanish dish? Do they serve it at Taco Bell ?
Andria - June 23, 2009 - Report this comment
Great parody, AFW, and it too reminds me of eating fatty breakfast pastries as Leo said above. As for what polenta is, it is an Italian dish, composed largely of cornmeal, and being Italian, it is highly unlikely that it would be found at Taco Bell. You might look for it at the Olive Garden, Romano's Macaroni Grill or an independently-owned Italian restaurant. More information about polenta may be found at Wikipedia. 5s for you. Oh, and my security code was 5B3, as in 5 times 3 or 5-5-5.

Thank you so very much, AndriaDearest . . . The kind of Polenta that CowboyDave was chompin' for was a breakfast cereal . As s(he) explained, it is a coarse grade of cornMeal. The Bright Yellow color is a welcome sight to any hungry Cowboy ! This was given to the RomanLegions as they conquered on horseback ! Then I garish it with strawberries & Goat cream . . . . what a dream ! !

Thanks so much, LCC! I don't know much about polenta except that it's made from corn and originated in Italy, as you confirmed. Sounds pretty darn good the way you said you made it for Cowboy Dave, and I am a "she", not a "he", although there are a lot of men named Andria in Eastern Europe.
