The Lyrics

You know how it is: you don't wanna go somewhere, but you're forced to, and it takes BLOODY AGES. If you don't know, then there's something wrong with you.
It's far
Too far

How far?
Too far

I've been staring out the window
Sick of list'nin' to the radio
We've been driving to see Grandma
What a bore

Should be time that we were there, but
Dad won't tell us, it drives us nuts
Try once more

Are we there yet? Now?
Are we there yet? Well?
How far?
How far?
Could be there in five
Or maybe six
Too far
Too far

Seven days and no end in sight
Should've brought my old DS Lite
Now I'm bored stiff on the highway
Far to go

I would try sleeping but it's too loud
I never wanted to be here at all
Wish that I could get away now
Off the road

Are we there yet? Now?
Are we there yet? Well?
How far?
How far?
It's been days now, five?
Or twenty-six?
Too far
Too far

I wake up sometimes
But we're nowhere close
It's such a waste of time
That bribe was a joke

Dad said "If you come, you'll get dough"
But he was talkin' crap, I shoulda known
But now Dad says "Let's just go home"
Nearly choked

We're going home now!
Took his time, did Dad
How far?
How far?
'Till we get back home
Dad's driving quick
Still far
Too far

Are we there yet? Now?
Are we there yet? Well?
(How far?)
Could be there in five
Or maybe six
(Too far)

How far?

Too far?

This one kinda puzzled me Conq.... Why exactly did your dad drive for like hours and then just decide to turn around and go home? Did he get lost or something? I think you were going for the surprise ending, but it just left me confused.

Good original song choice, but your parody still confuses me "Five" or "Six" what? Miles? Hours? The window and radio at the begining of the parody also seemed kinda lazy, because you didn't change it, and although it worked with a short song you need to change almost everything to proove your strength, also the topic of being bored is kind of a dry topic to begin with you need to come up with something extra strong to help yourself out there.

(Artistry)I think what messed up Matthias' mind is that you focused entirely on the ride, wherever it was, both going and returning. A payoff at the end would have indeed helped immensely.

(Artistry) Seven days and no end in sight? That's a mighty long trip there -- where the heck does Grandma live? :-) Or did you mean it just felt like days. Good job of capturing a youngster's travel angst.

(Artistry) Great idea, but oh TCOP-I am so sorry to have to do this, but I have to point out where your blips are "Should be time that we were there, but Dad won't tell us, it drives us nuts" It's a mistake I used to make a lot, but that couplet goes Present Tense, Past Tense, Present Tense--it can throw of a listener and a reader. Also some sketchy pacing--but GREAT idea buddy. . .
