The Lyrics

I don't know how many of you might know the original song here. Normally I wouldn't use a Tori Amos song for a parody. Her stuff is usually pretty much straight from the heart and I have a good deal of respect and admiration for her talent and accomplishments. But the original song here is a rather whimsical number and I don't think Ms. Amos would have a problem with it's use here. In one of those twists of fate, I know Rhonda MIller of Burbank, CA, who is the one suing the Governor, although I haven't seen or spoken to her in about 20 years or so. I did a little research** and found she has a grown daughter who is a school-teacher and that Rhonda still takes care of her Mother (87 years old). I can tell you that unless she has changed drastically that she is not a liar and I believe her. She's was a nice woman then and I doubt that she has changed. If you are not aware of it, the Media outlets that picked up on the lies have all issued retractions/apologies so the implication that Ms. Miller is a criminal type or a prostitute was a complete smear. She has no criminal record whatsoever. The malicious and misleading smear the Governor's campaign henchman laid on her is basically inexcusable as far as I'm concerned. I hope the Gov. can pull this State out of it's troubles but I can't say I have much respect or trust for him. ** Steve Lopez, Los Angeles Times column of December 14, 2003.
I am Governor Schwarzenegger
You must give me money
Or your bills I will veto-toe-toe
Rhonda Miller wants my dough
I made it sound like she's a Ho'
It's a gigantic lawsuit
I just might be in a bind

I am Governor Schwarzenegger
We're in litigation over blatant campaign lie-lie-lies
Slander lawsuits going on
She's suing for a million
She says I groped her breasts
And then I fondled her behind
Settle it out, she's
got a real fine lawyer
Whose very quick to emphasize her clients' awful plight
Settle it out, she's
got a real fine lawyer
Who said "The press will bury you for sure"
And then you'll be reviled
P.S. I couldn't find a link to play the original song. It is on Tori Amos's latest album "Tales of A Librarian" and was originally on her "Boys For Pele" album from about 1996, I believe.

Thanks for the vote, I didn't know if anyone would know the original so I wasn't expecting an avalanche. The subject matter was one I felt I needed to get out, regardless.

Paul, getting it out is important! DKTOS so it's hard to vote on it, though. I don't always parody songs that are well known either, but do it because I feel like it! And by the way, thanks for what you said on that OTHER page! That guy probably won't get it, but at least you tried. I didn't want to leave a note there because the page has gotten way too much attention already.

Mari D - Thanks for the note - appreciated. I had been stewing about this topic since I first saw the name involved but had not had time to verify for sure...once I did I needed to say something, someway to be able to move on...did that and will move on, feels better now...Yeah, I felt the need to return that fool's remarks on whatever song that was posted to and a certain person came to mind as a perfect example to use. His remarks bothered me in the same manner as the mentality behind the "smear" tactics I mentioned in this one's top comments. That type of crap truly calls out for a strong rebuttal and as you may have observed I've got plenty of rebuttal to share & spare hanging around upstairs...

Good job, Paul, and it's nice to know some of the real facts.

Adagio, Thank YOU for checking it out here! When I was trying to verify the name through a Web Search engine I came across many "blogger" sites and was just completely, well, appalled (couldn't help it here) and disgusted by the total and complete ugliness being spewed towards an innocent person for daring to call attention to a celebrity's miserable behavior and lack of integrity. I lot of the blogger's and their respondents seemed to feel the only thing wrong about the Governor's actions was "poor taste" in choice of women and made some rancid comments about Ms. Miller looks (which I recall as being actually quite good, if it were to matter at all).

That is so good! So far I've read 3 good Tori Amos parodies, and I think she'd be proud just reading this one, 'cause it's the best one I've read so far! Keep up the work! Damn, I wish people would allow these things on radio!

Happy Phantom - well, you posted your comment quite a while ago (Jan 15, 2005), and I'm sorry I didn't see it to reply at the time. Tori's my favorite current artist now, actually...still fresh and creative and still an incredible live performer. Thanks for stopping by ! ~ ~ ~

I've always been a Tori fan-She's my favorite artist-writer-singer-"semi-actress" of all time. I don't know many others my age who are into her as I'm a senior in HS so it was exciting when I got to see her last month. She had 4 piano's on that stage! At times she would play two at once- it was really amazing. I think your parody is refreshing intellectual and amazingly true to the original rhythm while still maintaining a point. :-) Rock on dude :-D!!

Rei Ishida - Thanks! So you got to see Tori live recently...that's cool -it really is a trip when she plays two at the same time...and sings as well - yeah, I saw her September 17th this y ear at the Greek Theatre here is Los Angeles, CA...great show...yeah, tremendous live performer....glad you liked my piece - thanks for looking in ~ ~ ~

I'll never forget the songs she played. She was on tour for The Beekeeper which dissapointed me the first time I heard it but then a couple songs like Mother Revolution and Parasol got stuck in my head! And I quickly fell in lvoe with the whole album. My favorite Tori Sound has been and probably always will be the sound she had on From the Choirgirl Hotel and To Venus and Back. I loved the industrial sound she had in those two albums. I still like her more folky stuff tho becuz her voice is just out of this world. I'm learning to play her songs on the piano so that I can teach myself to siteread better and currently am working on Mary. O.O; There are symbols in her music I have NEVER seen before in my life. xD Its a real challenge. Well, take care!

Rei Ishida - Well, It seems I'm always several months or more behind in catching your comments here. Mentioning your "Favorite Tori sound" brings to mind what I've experienced in that regard...my "Favorite tori sound" seems to shift every few months or so...I'll get into an album and hang with it...but months later I will find something about a different album of hers that draws me in, and I'll stay there for a spell...anyway, looking forward with curiousity and enthusiasm to see what she rolls out of the box in 2007. If she follows recent her pattern of recent years it will be time for a new CD and then a tour to follow. You know the music will be different, but you don't know just how...
