The Lyrics

I've never been on a truly BAD holiday, but I've heard some real tales of woe from friends. The Iberian peninsula seems to be one of the main culprits....
A Spanish destination;
Straw hats and tapas bars
But now, my cheap vacation's
Less fun than a sunburned arse

There's lots of new construction
Our "sea view"- a concrete wall
No ev'nings of seduction
Just nightly drunken brawls!

The beaches are all closed up
All it ever does is rain
There's something growing in our bath
It's a brand-new fungal strain
Cucarachas round the drain!
(Oh yuck!)

High price mai-taisouch!
At Villa La Mediocre
The staff hit on my spouse
No tippin' those sleazy jokers
The chicken tastes like mouse
(Coz the chef's a ganja smokah)
Next door, a cathouse
It's Villa La Mediocre
Villa La Mediocre

Woke upto guns and screaming
And a funky sewer smell
For brekky, stale toast and week-old coffee
Now suddenly, I don't feel too well

There's something in the water
Makes my buttocks clench; cramp pain!
Each night we have some bedroom fun
"Identify that stain"
It's pointless to complain
(No Inglese!)

Pool-side, there's five cows
At Villa La Mediocre
And dry blood on "fresh" towels
The walls are nic-o-tine ochre
At 4 a.m, aroused
By p***ed-up karaok-ah
Can we check out now
From Villa La Mediocre?
Villa La Mediocre

I went to see a bullfight
And envied the matador
At least he'll get a nice clean bed
At the hospital, once gored
Should I just fall on my sword?
(oh hell..)

Wild-eyed, so tired now
At Villa La Mediocre
And sex I've done without
My missus won't let me stroke 'er
Now, as we leave, a drought
(I'm phoning up Al Roker)
Back next year? No doubt!
To Villa La Mediocre
Villa La Mediocre
Villa La Mediocre

What a blindingly good parody! Seems like you had a poor holiday but your parody was anything but poor! 555s for you sir!

A new classic... "LVL" has been parodied many a time, but this is one of the best ones I've read/heard in a while. Cinco-Cinco-Cinco.

Totally in agreement with Agrimorfee... would have to quote whole thing to recount all the great lines but the `Ochre' , `poolside cows' and `identify the stain' lines particularly tickled my fancy!

That almost sounds like Tiajuana. Every summer, when I was a kid, I went with my family to Newport to stay at a crummy trailor park near a dirty beach. You had to walk half a block to go to the bathroom, it was noisy and there was no privacy.

I only remember the chorus of the song, but that didn't stop me from loving this. "Identify that stain"; having worked in the hotel industry for a while, I can tell you that even experienced hotel call half of the things they find "UBFs": Unidentifyable Bodily Fluids. 555

I was hoping this was about the Ol' Family Ranch in Crawford, Texas.

I'm in the same boat as Red Ant when it comes to the OS, but this was a fab read and I'll trust your pacing anytime.

Decathlon...I think the only way I could love this more, Kristof, is if I had written it myself...(you know, then I'd have the bragging rights at least)...excellent job!

(dec4) ah, huge apologie, KR mate - I read this when you submitted it, but I love your mediocrity-themed parodies, and it was such a huge laugh I wanted to read it again to the OS which I didn't have - then I got distracted, so that's why there's no comment - but now I've limewired it, and it was so worth it - as I said, your trademark celebration of the underwhelming is just such a funny theme, and this was a stand-out - just the title alone is hilarious - 555
