The Lyrics

That's great it starts with The Hobbit
Bilbo is respectable
The Took side had not yet kicked in
Gandalf is walking by
Coming back the next day
Dwarves show up there instead
Bilbo's running out of bread
He's getting kind of mad
Some help? No
Thanks? No
Gandalf knocks the mark out
Dents the door
Round door
Late at night they're sitting there with Gandalf blowing smoke rings while they make Bilbo the thief to steal from Smaug's lair
They were caught by
Goblins in a
Cave but Bilbo
Got away and found this ring
Puts it in his pocket and starts looking for an exit
Finds a lake can't swim
Uh-oh Gollum's here
Answers riddles for his life
But Bilbo wins
Saves himself
Wears the ring
Gollum can't see him
It's a ring of power
Now he's merely shadow in the sun-Sun
It turns out it was Gollum's precious One Ring
Elves sing
Of Isildur's might

It's the One Ring
To rule all the others
It's the One Ring
To find all the others
It's the One Ring
To bring all the others
In darkness bind

Thirty years-Bilbo's birthday
Don't get caught in Sackville B's way
Leave the town-Shire
Give the ring to Frodo
Gandalf tells
It's the One Ring
Must leave soon
Sam drops eaves
Get to the Prancing Pony
They get there and meet Aragorn
Run from Nazgul
Get to Elrond
Quickly, quickly
Watch your arm stabbed, stabbed
Shadow-Now to Elrond
Heal him there
Council about the ring
A fellowship, a fellowship, a fellowship is made
Elf, Dwarf, Men, and Hobbit
Frodo is the Bearer
Gandalf goes, too

It's the (Frodo must destroy the ring) One Ring
To rule all the others
It's the (Frodo must destroy the ring) One Ring
To find all the others
It's the (Frodo must destroy the ring) One Ring
To bring all the others
In darkness bind

They go to Moria
Gandalf dies to fight Balrog
Next Lothlorien
Galadriel
Boromir tries to take the ring,
Frodo leaves, Fellowship gone
Mount Doom, Helm's Deep, Ents, Olympic Torch-Boom!
Frodo won't give it up, Gollum takes it, falls in. Gone? Gone.

It's the (Frodo must destroy the ring) One Ring
To rule all the others
It's the (Frodo must destroy the ring) One Ring
To find all the others
It's the (Frodo must destroy the ring) One Ring
To bring all the others
In darkness bind

(Sam Gamgee restores the Shire)

It shows that your worked hard on this. Not quite enough rhymes in it to make it as fun as it could have been, but a good premise and effort.

Yet again, a parody that seems absolutely incredible, but is really hard to check pacing on, due to the difficulty of singing the song in the first place. I'll assume you did a good job and give you a 5/5/5... Otherwise it would have been a ?/5/5, anyway ;-).

10/10 for effort: this must have taken quite some working out. As I've said to a few other first entries: damn good for a first parody and I'll look forward to seeing more.

I got this sense of deja vu reading your comment... I suppose that copying comments is an original idea, in a manner of speaking :-/

Philbo: You and neminem and Claude left lovely comments and said everything I wanted to, so I was going to say "Ditto all of the above comments," but decided instead to actually ditto all of the above comments. I figured my copy/pasting would be obvious to anyone reading through this thread, but just so they wouldn't miss it, I threw in that final parenthetical comment. Rest assured that I would never plagiarize parodies - I do have one or two principles left.

I forgot to comment this: the Olympic Torch, Boom! refers to the movie where the orc thinks it necessary to have a, well, Olympic Torch to light the gunpowder : )

WOW!!! i am simply blown away by this superb parody. The time invested in such a project must have been enormous! Loved th original song, and the parody may be even better. Ny name probably gives away my LOTR fandom. A remarkable achievement worhty of the orginal song as well as Tolkien's epic.
