The Lyrics

When I was in the 8th grade...I was supposedly doing my chores downstairs, when in reality, I was watching Club MTV...and dancing like a maniac. Everything was going very well, when a rogue chair snuck up behind me and sabotaged my whole routine. I walked around for 3 weeks with my injuries...because I didn't want my mother to know that I hadn't been doing my chores. As I examine my lack of balance now...I still blame it on that fateful day....
To dance is what I wanted
But grace is what I needed, yeah
I fell over a chair and
Then [I, I, I, I, I,]
I broke my back

I've told you that I'm clumsy
I've mentioned all the times I've hit the floor
Well this is my favorite tale, for sure

So here's an explanation
I think it's why I fall the way I do
See, my bones were crooked when they fused

To dance is what I wanted
But grace is what I needed, yeah
I fell over a chair and
Then I broke my back

I can still remember,
My mom thought I was doing the laundry
My secret I swore to keep forever

I didn't tell my story
Pretended everything would be alright
As my lumbar region grew more tight

To dance is what I wanted
But grace is what I needed, yeah
I fell over a chair and
Then I broke my back

I broke my back

Grace is what I want
Grace is what I need
What can a girl do?

Grace is what I want
Grace is what I need
Tell me what could I do?

To dance is what I wanted
[That's not bad to want]
But Grace is what I needed
[No talent to flaunt]
I fell over a chair and
Then I broke my back

To dance is what I wanted
But grace is what I needed, yeah
I fell over a chair and
Then I broke my back
This is a true story...the names have not been changed to protect the innocent. I really am this stupid...Enjoy!

This isn't a very big clip...but it's part of a verse, and then the chorus...to give you some idea. http://shopping.yahoo.com/p_pop_music_1921300819_formatinfo
