The Lyrics

This song was inspired by a buddy of mine...
The work day's through, he drives right to the G-Days parking lot
He asks, "Hey chap, what'cha got on tap?" when he claims his favorite spot.
When he orders up a growler, the reception's always warm.
The crowd starts growing around him, cause Johnny won't leave the bar

You want Rolling Rocks, grab yourself a seat.
You can't go home when the beer's dirt cheap
He's gonna drink and dine, and he'll whine if you serve him Coors
Johnny won't leave the bar

He called, "Hey Sponge, come and take the plunge, and watch some Busch Series!
We'll grab some drinks and some Glory Wings and we'll play some Golden Tee.
He knows hit the backspin, when he hits a shot too long
The seats are filling around him, cause Johnny won't leave the bar.

You want Rolling Rocks, grab yourself a seat.
You can't go home when the beer's dirt cheap
He's gonna drink and dine, and he'll whine if you serve him Coors
Johnny won't leave the bar

One day his wife came home with beer and cheese
She just wanted to relax when she heard the phone beep
She got a message: Better get back into the car
Cause Johnny won't leave the bar.

You want Rolling Rocks, grab yourself a seat.
You can't go home when the beer's dirt cheap
He's gonna drink and dine, and he'll whine if you serve him Coors
Johnny won't leave the bar

He's gonna drink and dine, and he'll whine if you serve him Coors
Johnny won't leave the bar.

(ABC3) Interesting song. Not much came out of it, I was expecting a big climax. Might have been more meaningful if I was familiar with the OS, I guess.

I kinda agree with Agrimorfee: Must be one of your earlier works Jeff

(ABC3) Nice OS, 5-5-5... Although I, like the others, were up for a climatical ending or whatever. But good anyways

I appreciate the feedback. I agree it's not one of my best. It was the only J I had left at the time, and had no comments, so I figured I'd put it out there for a look-see.

(ABC3J) Great job on capturing all of the internal rhyming, Jeff. I realize this parody predates the "vary every chorus possible" trend that is fairly prevalent today, so I'm not holding that against you; matter of fact, it would better for karaoke in bars (I could see this becoming a local favorite if a recording was made). And yes, Rolling Rock is dirt cheap for a reason: algae filled pond water is free. =)

I hear there's at least one like that in every bar. The famous German drinking song, In München Steht Ein Hofbrauhäus, is about just that type of drunkard!--MM

(ABC3J) I quite like this, Jeff...but you got the name wrong; it's Kris-Tof, not Joh-Nny. ;-) 555

(ABC) Hey, I'm not a lawyer -- what? -- oh, never mind. ;-)
