The Lyrics

After my phone went off in the middle of auditions two days ago, and it was my boss at one of my internships begging me to come in on absolutely no notice, for the sixth time, and then my mom called me the next day in the middle of the test I'd been up all night cramming for because I was on the phone long-distance with the guy I'm seeing for three hours because he'd called practically in hysterics because his computer wasn't working.......I decided to write this parody. I remember when I was in sixth grade and I BEGGED my mother to buy me a cell phone. She gave in when I entered high school and I have regretted it ever since because it is just another way for people to contact me and eat up my limited time. And it goes off at inopportune times, like auditions, but you can't turn it OFF because someone important might call and it does no good to put it on vibrate because everyone hears it anyway. So I want to throw my phone out the window. But I know I never will.
I don't care
What my bosses say
I'm throwing my phone out the window
And nobody
Will get to contact me
Wait and see
I'll hurl it out the window
And my laptop into the sea
No one will know how to
Bother me, meeeeeee.

Cause I'm trying to work
They keep calling me
I'm gonna throw it out the window

Cause I'm trying to work
They keep calling me
I'm gonna throw it out the window

I get so sick
Of those constant voicemails
"Hey sign up for this"
"Please remember this"
It makes me want to kill..
Kill everyone!
That'd be fun, that'd be fun!!!!
I am at my play tryouts, and it starts to ring
Oh crap, it's still ringing
I run out the stage-left door
Oh god stop calling me
Please, stop calling me!

Cause I'm trying to work
They keep calling me
I'm gonna throw it out the window

Cause I'm trying to work
They keep calling me
I'm gonna throw it out the window

"You called six times yesterday
And you'll call again today
But you're not gonna call tomorrow
'Cos I'm throwing my phone out the window!"

Cause I'm trying to work
They keep calling me
I'm gonna throw it out the window

I'm not sure how you are going to handle a real job. It is required in many companies to silence the cell phone during meetings and cannot be used on company time, etc. I guess you're going to have to learn how to use voicemail...

since i'm going to be a journalist, and all the journalists i know/work with have their cells ringing worse than mine, even in the office, i don't think it's going to be a problem.

Why don't you put your phone on silent if you don't want people to hear it? Or turn it off? Haha, DKTOS this was funny. 5's
