The Lyrics

Not my first parody, but the first one I'm submitting to the fine folks here now that I've found this site.
Hit It! Nah, na na na nah...

Here comes the Bartender, Order up
I'm the alcohol lender, Order up
Make margaritas in mah blender, Order up
You'll love it like that, Order up

I make the drinks quite quickly, be sure to tip me freely
Me boss loves to hear the cash register ring
Act like you know Bolero
Up next, a Pink Flamingo
Serve them up by the Verrazzano
Ch-ch-ching ching

Here comes the Bartender, Order up
I'm the alcohol lender, Order up
Excuse me mister officer, Order up
You'll love it like that, Order up

Extraordinary, juice from a strawberry
Or a Mexican beer that's served with a lime.
Whether it's a Dry Martini, a Banana Daiquiri
Come drink with me, I say every time

Here comes the Bartender, Order up
I'm the alcohol lender, Order up
Dial emergency number, Order up
You'll love it like that, Order up

Nah, na na na nah... it's how we do it man
Nah, na na na nah...

Start up a Vodka Gimlet, finish off a Black Velvet
On the night is Jack, Daniels, understand?
I'm the daddy of the Gin and Brandy
They go down smooth like candy
Ain't no waitress gonna play me, no matter what they demand

Here comes the Bartender, Order up
I'm the alcohol lender, Order up
Excuse me mister officer, Order up
You'll love it like that, Order up

I make the drinks quite quickly, be sure to tip me freely
Me boss loves to hear the cash register ring
Act like you know Bolero
Up next, a Pink Flamingo
Serve them up by the Verrazzano
Ch-ch-ching ching

Here comes the Bartender, Order up
I'm the alcohol lender, Order up
The best server in the area, Order up
You'll love it like that, Order up

Nah, na na na nah... yeah man
Nah, na na na nah...right

Here comes the Bartender, Order up
I'm the alcohol lender, Order up
Me margarita will floor ya, Order up
You'll love it like that, Order up

Here comes the Bartender, Order up
I'm the alcohol lender, Order up
The best server in the area, Order up
You'll love it like that, Order up

Here comes the Bartender, Order up
I'm the alcohol lender, Order up
Make margaritas in mah blender, Order up
You'll love it like that, Order up
Hey, da da da da...
I left a few words in the refrain/chorus from the original song. Couldn't come up with anything, and besides, bartenders talk to officers and emergency workers at times.I wrote this for a friend in Brooklyn, who works as a bartender. The last time I visited it was his birthday, and one of his gifts was a margarita blender.

Loved this from the moment I saw the title. It strays off the pacing of the original here and there but nothing you couldn't cover as you're singing it. Lots of great fun lines, and despite your comments I think leaving in some lines from the original is great as long as they work in the context of the parody. Great job, thanks for posting, and welcome to AmIRight!

I liked this too. I sought out a Youtube video to listen along to, since I never heard this before. The topic worked beautifully with the OS... Some line possibilities for the ones you left in: "You drink and get dumber", "We go on a bender," "Get a taxi to send her.." :) Good start, let's see more!

Thanks Rex and Agri. I like the bender and taxi suggestions! I'll put up at least a couple more that I've written. I had to go back through my blog entries to see what songs might be good enough. The bar is set pretty high here.

Had to give my welcome speech too. . .as a newbie getting comments is hard, but it looks like you are doing quite well to get started. . .good luck and welcome to the club.

Thanks Jack, Dave, and I think Hound Dog (not sure what the LoaTD reference means). I hope there's no initiation ritual I have to perform to join. ::whack:: Thank you sirs, may I write another?

Welcome! I don't know the OS, so will decline voting, but it reads really nice!

Well done, Wolverine. I like the "ring/Ch-ch-ching ching" verses. But, while repetition is a good thing in original songs, most parodists try to avoid repetition and vary their choruses. It might have been difficult here to come up with alternative choruses as good as the one you are using, but I think it makes the parody a little bit better if you do.

Thanks Merry and John. And duly noted John. I try to go with the song, and if it repeats, so do I. But on some songs (like this one), I understand about the repetition (where it basically repeats the last lines 4 times).
