Parody Song Title:

"Overfull Tonight"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Mari and I hate this song. Eric sings to his model/trophy wife that she looks wonderful tonight. So what does she look like the rest of the time? Chopped liver? Also at the end of the song he gives her the car keys to drive, so you know what kind of shape HE's in by the end of the evening. No wonder she looks so good.
It's right after dinner
He's burping and scratching crotch
He slurps on his fifth beer
And lets his belt out a notch
And then he asks me
"Is my shirt too tight?"
And I say yes, you look overfull tonight

We go to a party
He heads for the cake and pie
I do all the talking
As seconds and thirds go by
And then he mumbles
"Is there more buffet?"
And I say yes, you have overfilled your stay

He's so overfull
Because he just can't say no to free food
And the wonder of his gall
Is that he doesn't know it's rude
How much he consumes

It's time to go home now
He's got to be full by now
I think he possesses
Stomachs of a cow
We hit a diner
That's open through the night
He says, my darling, let's just stop in for a bite
Oh, my darling, I'm not overfull tonight

Irony surrounds the original song. Its used by so many people at their weddings, but do they know what its about? Its not what everyone thinks...its about Claptons impatience for Patti Boyd when she takes a long time to get ready before they go out. The "You look wonderful tonight" really means "Yes, you look fine, now lets get going!".....Im not making this up lol

If VH1's "The 50 Most Awesomely Bad Songs...Ever" had defined "Ever" as containing everything since 1978 (when this song came out), as opposed to 1981 (the birth of MTV), would this song have been on the list? As I've said before, it's hard to go wrong with fat/overeating parodies. This one is wonderful any night.

Ooooooooo! This would be an A, but that prequel you added makes it an A+. Very, very nice!

I found this by clicking on "Random". Excellent button, that! Rick, enjoyed the parody, agree about the dreary song. Loved the lead-in :) As a Peregrin aside, Clapton is arguably one of the premier guitarists going around, but can also be incredibly boring. Ref: 'Tears In Heaven'.
