The Lyrics

Yes, I know the OS is really by Easy E, but the Dynamite Hack version is shorter. And funnier, too.
Alarm clock buzz caught me mid-snore
Just thought, man I gotta go to work once more
Some coffee to drink before the day begins
Before my boss starts bitchin' that I'm late again

About to go and damn near forgot
Ta bring the new PDA that I just bought
I went in the house to get the clip
For my cell phone on the side of my hip

I stepped outside and pointed my key fob
The chirp from the horn says it did the job
I jump in my car pray the engine starts
The neighbors wave as I depart

Then I let the iPod play
I was pumpin' light jazz on wma
It was "Jasmine Flower" by Kenny G
Then I put in Rob Thomas's latest CD

Drivin' down the street in my Honda Accord
Passin' the seniors in their Crown Vic Fords
Got to the guard shack and flashed ID
Rent-a-cop starts giving me the third degree

A guy pulls up, I know that face
The guy whose fav'rite movie is "Office Space"
He rolls down his window and he starts to stress
Did ya get the memo on your T.P.S.

Cuz the boyz in the cubez are workin' hard
Been writin' email with no disregard
Follow processes they don't comprehend
Don't bug me boy, I just clicked "send"

Tired as hell and I gotta wake up
So I get some bad coffee in a Styrofoam cup
Pass the new guy, yeah he's a straight shooter
Then I sat down at my crappy computer

Hit the power button and I start thinking
Staring at the hard drive light that's blinking
I got lots of old files ripe for deleting
Reminder pops up I'm late for a meeting

Got to the room plopped down in a chair
I didn't hardly recognize anyone there
I thought man I sure could use a vacation
As I sat through a three-hour long presentation

It never made sense, wouldn't you know?
So I stood up and said something apropos
This thing'll never work, it's a poor design
Then the meeting chair said lets take this offline.

Cuz the boyz in the cubez are workin' hard
Been writin' email with no disregard
Follow processes they don't comprehend
Don't bug me boy, I just clicked "send"

Boss-man blabbin' but it's alright
Found a better job, I'm gonna fly, say buh-bye.

{I'm flickin' off ev'rybody man, I'm flickin' off ev'rybody}

You stuck to the OS's beat pretty well, and the rhymes aren't totally desperate, but it's more boring than the coffee sludge at the office. Plus, you didn't really come up with lyrics at some points, just copying from the OS. Kinda lame-o, really...

Thayer: The boringness was kind of the joke. Poking fun of how boring a (stereo)typical engineer/office worker's life often is. Driving a Honda Accord, listening to Kenny G, stuck in boring meetings. The only lyric I lifted straight from the OS was " went in the house to get the clip," but that was part of the joke, too. I've seen too many people with their cell phone on a belt clip.

Sir McKlu, this is soooo ~Silicon-Valley~ It's down right cubicle! I know the boredom and the daily, mindless machine-routine . . . . That's why ~FishNet Fridays~ are welcomed by the Tech Engineers here!

Thanks LCC. It's much the same on the East Coast, too. As a systems engineer I live the cubicle life, but sadly I've not seen anyone in fishnet stockings where I work. I bet the engineers where you work just loooove you :-)
