The Lyrics

My tribute to cheap knockoffs. Let's see if you can guess the real brands!
When shopping I'll slouch at a discount price
Outta money bought funky "OLD SPIKES"
Use "ARM & HATCHET" baking soda
"Hammer" is glamour, Slurp "POPSI" cola
This crap is manure, Not breaking the bank
Don't need "OAKLEYS" glass, These "FOAKLEYS" are swank
"CUGGI's" in style got my wife a purse
It's straps might be broken but it could get worse
The package is in Engrish: "Bag gives no frowns"
A bad knockoff but it won't cost a crown
Now my children need playthings get them: "SPECIALMAN"
It's crappy and snapping and straight from Japan
A "TITANIC-BOT" or perhaps "ROBERT COP"
It's low on dough just spending change when I shop
And for pennies it's plenty, Won't whine when it bursts
I can't get an iPhone but the "yPhone" still works

You can't tell the difference
I'm shopping but cheap
Might b*tch and moan (b*tch and moan)
B*tch and moan
For Easter bought "PLEEPS"
Brands they're replacing, I'm praising since I am dirt poor
Not pricy but dicey when raiding dollar stores
You can't tell the difference

Yah!

My "SHARPIES" are "SKERPLES", My "TRIX" are now "PRANKS"
I've hunted for bargains and chomp "BULL PORK FRANKS"
"LITTLE DERPIE" cupcakes cause gas like Ex-Lax
Inhale them, On sale man with "MOUNTAIN DOO" packs
Spending dimes and surviving on minimum wage
"CRUST" toothpaste is slime and my dentist will rage
Cash I'm saving when craving "OREOS" are rare
When spending's unending these "CREAM BETWEENS" I'll snare
My pay has gone down but my bills have gone up
Even hobos refuse to dine on this junk
But I'm needy and greedy with pockets of dust
My car is a lemon: A "BOOICK" with rust

But you can't tell the difference
These books that I read
The "STARVING GAMES" ("STARVING GAMES")
"STARVING GAMES"
Is the knock-off breed
Coupons I'm cutting when strutting with "NYKES" I sport
I'm bumming and slumming while all the yuppies snort
Brand naming is wasting, Can't wear those "GAP" shorts
Seems crazy "OLD GRAVY" is much more of my sort
You can't tell the difference
I'm shopping but cheap
You can't tell the difference

This should have more votes and comments - original idea of the week!

I'd vote 555 if I could but the only thing I have at hand on this borrowed jPAD is a cheap 5ive-5ive-5ive.

Very clever indeed! Let me knockoff 555 for you (get it? KNOCKOFF? ar, ar ar)

The cheap store brands that you can find, I can relate to that since the products they sell can be similar to the ones they try to ripoff, but with different title. At least over half the time they're worse than the original brand.

(Artistry) it's always fun to find off-brand products and see what they're called. They do get pretty ridiculous. This reminds me of going to the store with my buddies and having a good time seeing these things and I love that about this parody!

(Artistry) I've never run across knockoff products, maybe they're not as much of a thing in Australia, who knows. I do know that The Starving Games are a thing...except not a book, but a Selzerberg "spoof" "film". Yeah. Fantastic parody here, $555 dollars saved!

Brilliant idea! I love the different ideas that you came up with for the knock-off versions (hopefully you made them up, I don't think I'll be buying "CRUST" toothpaste anytime soon!) Well done, good sir!

First of all, I F*CKING LOVE CAKE!!! Also, this is a fantastic idea; executed masterfully. TMGLTM but for some reason "BOOICK" made me laugh really hard out loud.
