The Lyrics

It won't be long before we choose #44 in the Presidential lottery. But...what of the nearly two dozen racers who couldn't go the distance? Well, here's a song about them. If you DKTOS, go here for the full song. Share and Enjoy!
Vilsack had dropped first
Tommy Thompson followed
Brownback's designs were not too
Intelligent to swallow
Gravel hated Dems and
Now he fights for "Libertar-y"
Dodd announced on Imus;
So we knew he'd be hist-or-y

Gilmore tried to be like Dean
But couldn't get the money
Ron Paul the big winner?
Only he found that not funny
They were all in love with politics
And they tied their hopes completely
To the running towards that big White House
Somewhere out in D.C.

I don't mind the polls sometimes
The numbers that they show
Grabbing from the lobbyists
All money that they throw
Primaries and caucuses
Keep open weary eyes
We never know just who will win
Till 'Lection Day arrives

Some dropped out in hot pursuit
Of McCain and Obama
Some dropped out embarrassed
And went crying home to momma
Biden dropped out early;
Now he's got a chance at V.P.
As he's looking to that big White House
Somewhere out in D.C.

I don't mind the polls sometimes
The numbers that they show
Grabbing from the lobbyists
All money that they throw
Primaries and caucuses
Keep open weary eyes
We never know just who will win
Till 'Lection Day arrives

Kucinch had pledged for peace;
They lost him at the border
Fred Thompson dropped out because
He got no "Law & Order"
Richardson couldn't hold to
This non-United Nation
Guillani's "nine-eleven"
Sent him on vacation

Huckabee was a joke
From O'Brien and Colbert
Hillary got very close
But dropped out to be fair
They were all in love with politics
But going wasn't easy
As they lost sight of that big White House
Somewhere out in D.C.

I don't mind the polls sometimes
The numbers that they show
Grabbing from the lobbyists
All money that they throw
Primaries and caucuses
Keep open weary eyes
We never know just who will win
Till 'Lection Day arrives

The pacing seems a little different from the OS in the third verse, but this is still the best parody of this song on Amiright so far. 455
