Well, I'm homeless,
I sleep under the freeway,
Wondering if I'm gonna eat today,
I'll eat anything at all,
And I'm standing,
Watching fancy cars go by,
Look at my shopping cart and start to cry,
Cause it's not that much at all.

Ya see, I'm just a man who's lived his life,
The best that he can through the pain of the knife,
I have served my country, and saluted the flag,
But after my discharge, life has been a drag,

I'm homeless,
People never give a s***,
Kids pass me by just to laugh and spit,
Upon my old and dirty clothes,
I can't blame them,
Their parents didn't teach them right,
They'll never have to sleep outside at night,
Or learn to pity someone's woes,

Ya see, I know that God is up above,
He answers my prayers with his endless love,
I would work if someone's nice enough to let me to,
But there's nothing in this world to do,

I have always walked straight ahead, won't focus on the past,
I live each day of my life like it's the last,
I'm a glutton for punnishment, All I've had is suffering,
Happiness costs money and love ain't free,
All I can afford is misery,
I'm Homeless!

Ya know it's a good day when I find some change,
Or I'll rummage in the dumpsters for something else strange,
I can make a living recycling cans,
But those silly cops have other plans
Catch me if you can!

The government's completely screwed,
They don't want to feed the hungry dude,
They just want it for their own,

I pray the Lord would let me die,
I'll walk with Jesus by my side,
Then I'll never be alone,
