Original Song Title:

"Them Bones"

 (MP3)
Original Performer:

Alice in Chains

Parody Song Title:

"Rhyme Zone"

Parody Written by:

Red Ant

The Lyrics

Rhymezone.com is very good and was recommended to me a while back. It doesn't do too well for deliberately misrhymed words though, or for making coherent parodies in this case.

I... believe..., rhymezones for me
Um.... say... dear porn, thank you the rave

When a rhymes unknown...
Need a word I'll just look it up on rhymezone

I

I.....

Bust... lies.., night drawn over high crime
Empty...docile..., love the nude queen

When a rhymes unknown...
Need a word I'll just look it up on rhymezone

( solo )

Soul...chew..., mad scream thumb screw
Eye....spy...., head drawn Wonder bread rye

When a rhymes unknown...
Two thumbs up my big bold rhyming friend

Need a homophone?...
Two thumbs up my big bold rhyming friend

When a rhymes unknown...
Need a word I'll just look it up on rhymezone

DKTOS but I certainly know Rhymezone, Red Ant, and whenever I see "egg foo yong" in a parody, I know the mark of.......RHYMEZONE!! - its synonyms feature is good too - 555

DKTOS or Rhymezone but, trust you and Stuart...555. (besides, I like your unique approach to parody writing)
Red Ant - June 24, 2005 - Report this comment
Thanks Stuart. The stanzas are pure "egg foo yong", as I rhymed every word as sensical as possible into TOS. I tried to fit as many features of rhymezone into this but synonyms didn't scan well.

Thanks Rick, the link at the top of the parody is clickable in case you didn't realize it, which will take you to rhymezone.com. You will find all sorts of things there. And thanks for the "unique style of parody writing". =)

dkos..from title, I thought this was going to be that old spiritual...dem bones, dem bones, dem dry bones...but I like your offbeat approach, here.

Greatest Site Created, well other than Amiright, I dunno about the OS though, still I'll give 5's.

Very good. However, we will NOT start another thread here!! Just kidding, nice parody and unique topic! I agree with Rick C about your different writing approach.
Stuart McArthur - June 24, 2005 - Report this comment
ah, I didn't realise that's what you were doing Red Ant - very clever idea, again!
Red Ant - June 24, 2005 - Report this comment
Thanks AFW, Matthias, Scrawny Johnny and Stuart. To let you know the original lyrics vs parodied lyrics in the 3rd stanza, they are as follows:

Toll due, bad dream come true
[ Soul chew, mad scream thumb screw]

I lie, dead gone under red sky
[Eye spy, head drawn Wonder bread rye]

PS-According to rhymezone, there are no perfect rhymes with the word "Empty".
Rick C - June 25, 2005 - Report this comment
Rhymezone is incorrect. If you made a tee shirt out of cannabis fiber, you'd have a hemp tee. I think that rhymes with empty fairly well.

Too strange to be LOL funny, so 545, but I agree, it's good to know that there's Rhymezone to fall back on when needed. (I really did for "Have you seen a Wookie in heat" as you might know).

Rick C: Do you look to your own back garden for such inspiration, ehh? And how about "Orange"?
Red Ant - June 27, 2005 - Report this comment
Thanks Peter Andersson. The someone mentioned in the foreword was you, hehe. "Orange" and "Meringue" are fairly close. I suppose depending on where you live ( or how many languages one speaks ) there are several rhymes with that word.

PS: Try finding a rhyme ( in English ) with "Caracticus's".=)

(ABC) I'm not a big fan of rhyme/misheard parodies. Being a DKTOS doesn't help either.

(ABC) Found a pretty bad midi of it, but at least it gave me the idea of the darkness of the OS. Some of your words you used fit in very well. 5's

ABC - Had very little idea wat u was ona bout but kinda funny in an odd way. lol, 545
Stuart McArthur - November 24, 2005 - Report this comment
(ABC05) wow, I don't even remember making my comments above (it must be that wine stuff I drink) - but I certainly agree with myself - except now I K about 20 seconds of TOS, thanks to Amazon. Like I said, you're #1 at getting the O ideas, Red Ant, and this was a perfect example

(ABC) Not a fan of AIC, Antman...but have probably used Rhymezone more times than is healthy,! Good job. 555

(ABC) This parody has a Zen-like quality of minimalism and simplicity.
